OF EVANSVILLE, INDIANA IN THE AMOUNT OF $133,574.00 MOTION by Commissioner Thomas, seconded by Commissioner Staton, to authorize award of the bid for an EMC Powerstore 500T Unified Storage Platform to Pinnacle Computer Services, Inc. of Evansville, Indiana in the amount of $133,574.00, in strict accordance with their bid as submitted pursuant to Bid Reference 22-27. On roll call, the vote stood: Commissioner Vowels --- Aye: Commissioner Pruitt ----- Aye: Commissioner Staton ----- Aye: Commissioner Thomas --- Aye: Mayor Austin ------------- Aye: WHEREUPON, Mayor Austin declared the municipal order adopted, affixed his signature and the date thereto, and ordered that the same be recorded. /s/ Steve Austin Steve Austin, Mayor ATTEST: July 26, 2022 Maree Collins, CKMC, City Clerk ________________________ RECOGNITION OF VISITORS: REVEREND CHARLES JOHNSON, Henderson City/County Human Rights Commission Executive Director, congratulated Breasha, and thanked everyone for their assistance with the Juneteenth Celebration Event conducted this past weekend indicating that the HLI Juneteenth Celebration Committee will present an in-depth report in the future. ________________________ CITY MANAGER’S REPORT: “ WILLIAM L. “BUZZY” NEWMAN, JR., City Manager, reported that the joint City/Utility Commission meeting has been scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on August 2nd with a short- called City meeting scheduled for 2:30 p.m. that same day. ________________________ City Manager Newman reported that he has asked for specific information from Mr. William Johnson on the requested letter of support and would bring that forward at a later date. ________________________ SUSAN BRYANT, Revenue Supervisor, gave a brief updated report on the ACH/Paperless rebate program. She reported that from January through June, 331 customers were paid a total of $11,585.00 for participating in the program. That was 70% of the total 469 customers that signed up but either left or did not comply with the program. She further reported when asked about the kiosk, that as of July 1, there have been 12 transactions with ten of those payments. ________________________ 108 CITY OF HENDERSON – RECORD BOOK Record of Minutes of A Regular Meeting on July 26, 2022 TRACE STEVENS, Parks, Recreation, Cemeteries Director, and MARK SIMMONS, Recreation Program Manager, reported that it is their recommendation to close the Atkinson Pool for the remainder of the season due to several of the lifeguards having been exposed to COVID. ________________________ CITY ATTORNEY’S REPORT: DAWN KELSEY, City Attorney, reported that the next round of foreclosed properties will be sold on July 27th at 10:30 a.m. at the Judicial Center. ________________________ COMMISSIONER’S REPORTS: COMMISSIONER PRUITT asked staff to look at the possibility of putting a water feature in Anthony Brooks Park. He requested a cost estimate of the project. ________________________ COMMISSIONER THOMAS congratulated Commissioner Pruitt and his daughter for being such a positive influence on the youth they work with. ________________________ MAYOR AUSTIN reported that the City has received notification that the Economic Development Administration has awarded a $3 million grant for assistance for the gas line extension project to Pratt and the South end. This grant is in addition to the $1.5 million Delta Regional grant already received. ________________________ BOARD/COMMISSION APPOINTMENT: “Henderson City/County Human Rights Commission” Vacancy Unexpired Term– Term to Expire September 17, 2023 MOTION by Commissioner Thomas, seconded by Commissioner Staton, upon recommendation of Mayor Steve Austin, to appoint Dr. Michelle Chappell to fill the unexpired term of Timothy Miller on the Henderson City/County Human Rights Commission.
