Record of Minutes of Special Called Joint City/Utility Commission Meeting on August 2, 2022
A special called joint meeting of the Board of Commissioners and the City Utility
Commission of the City of Henderson, Kentucky, was held on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at 3:00
p.m., prevailing time, in the third floor Assembly Room of the Municipal Center, 222 First Street,
Henderson, Kentucky, designated as the primary location for this video teleconference meeting
allowed under KRS 61.826.
MAYOR AUSTIN called the meeting to order and asked the City Clerk to conduct Roll
Call for the Board of Commissioners.

UTILITY COMMISSION CHAIR SHANNON asked that Roll Call for the Utility
Commission be conducted.

PRESENTATION: “Discussion of Power Supply Planning and Other Operational
Challenges”
BRAD BICKETT, Henderson Municipal Power & Light General Manager, gave a
presentation on the Power Supply Planning and Other Operational Challenges. Mr. Bickett
reviewed the strategic plan for future power options, Mission Statement, Power Costs and what
is included, Power Market is a lot different today than it used to be, and will be much different in
the future. HMPL’s goal is to provide the highest quality service at the lowest possible rate, and
they are working hard to explore all options for providing continued low-cost power into the
future.

meeting.

Please take notice that as Mayor of the City of Henderson, Kentucky, I hereby call a special called
meeting of the Board of Commissioners to be to be conducted jointly with the City Utility
Commission on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. One or more members of the Board of
Commissioners may participate via Zoom and the meeting will be broadcast to the public. The
meeting will be broadcast live on Zoom (call in number/webinar ID - 1 312 626 6799 / 874 8567
6652 Password: 8311200) or https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87485676652 Password: 8311200; live
streamed on the city's website: https://www.cityothendersonky.org/CivicMedia; Facebook and
Twitter.
This meeting will be conducted as a video teleconference meeting as allowed under KRS61.826.
Any interruption in the video or audio broadcast at any location shall result in the suspension of
the meeting until the broadcast is restored. The primary location for public attendance shall be the
third-floor assembly room, 222 First Street, Henderson, Kentucky. The purpose of this meeting is
for the following:
