CITY OF HENDERSON BLUE RIBBON COMMISSION ON EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE AND YOUTH OPPORTUNITY REGULAR MEETING AGENDA MEETING CANCELLED-NO QUORUM Recreation Conference Room Wednesday, August 19, 2015 City Hall Annex 4:00 PM 280 Water Street Meeting Inquiries: (702) 267-4016 Henderson, Nevada 89015 NOTICE Notice to persons with special needs: For those requiring special assistance or accommodation to attend or participate in this meeting, arrangements for a sign language interpreter or services necessary for effective communication for qualified persons with disabilities should be made as soon as possible, but no later than 72 hours before the scheduled event. Listening devices are available for persons with hearing impairments. Please contact Karie Teruya at (702) 267-4016 or TTY: 7-1-1 at least 72 hours in advance to request a sign language interpreter. You may also submit your request by using Contact Henderson. RECOMMENDATION: Approve Discuss and approve possible volunteer opportunities. 2 DISCUSS AND APPROVE POSSIBLE MEMENTOS FOR BLUE RIBBON COMMISSION MEMBERS PUBLIC WORKS, PARKS AND RECREATION For Possible Action. RECOMMENDATION: Approve Discuss and approve possible mementos for the Blue Ribbon Commission. VI. NEW BUSINESS 3 APPOINT CHAIR PRO TEM PORE PUBLIC WORKS, PARKS AND RECREATION For Possible Action. RECOMMENDATION: Appoint Current Chair and Vice-Chair terms ended on July 31, 2015. Temporary Chair Pro Tem Pore needs to be appointed for this meeting. An annual election for Chair and Vice-Chair will be held in September 2015. 4 INTRODUCTION OF NEW MEMBER PUBLIC WORKS, PARKS AND RECREATION Introduction of Brooklyn Darmody who was appointed at the July 7, 2015 City Council Meeting. RECOMMENDATION: Approve Discuss and determine date and location of possible outing. 7 BLUE RIBBON COMMISSION COLLEGE NIGHT PUBLIC WORKS, PARKS AND RECREATION For Possible Action. RECOMMENDATION: Approve Discuss details for College Night on October 6, 2015. 8 COLLEGE NIGHT AT GREEN VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL PUBLIC WORKS, PARKS AND RECREATION For Possible Action. RECOMMENDATION: Approve Discuss and approve details for College Night at Green Valley High School on October 22, 2015. 9 LEADERSHIP DAY 2016 PUBLIC WORKS, PARKS AND RECREATION For Possible Action.
