I. CALL TO ORDER
(Minutes/Discussion)
Mayor Michelle Romero called the Committee Meeting to order at 3:45 p.m., in
the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 240 South Water Street, Henderson,
Nevada 89015.
Mayor Romero said to make it easier for residents to voice their comments,
there will be two public comment periods, one at the beginning of the meeting,
designated for comments related to items on the agenda, and one at the end of
the meeting, for general public comment.
Mayor Romero stated the meeting is being video recorded and streamed live to
the Internet and on YouTube.
II. CONFIRMATION OF POSTING

Jose Luis Valdez, City Clerk, confirmed the Regular Meeting had been noticed
in compliance with the Nevada Open Meeting Law.

Stephanie Garcia-Vause, Assistant City Manager/CSO, introduced this bill by
title.
Angela Summers, Director of Parks and Recreation, thanked Mayor and Council
for their support to enforce park rules, promote safety, and educate the
community.
Ian Massy, Public Response Manager, gave a presentation on the changes to
the park Rules referenced in the proposed amendment to Henderson Municipal
Code 2.27.

Mayor Michelle Romero stated she and Council appreciate the time and effort
Parks and Recreation and Code Enforcement staff have dedicated to making
these amendments.
Councilman Jim Seebock requested to be kept updated on the construction of
the Downtown Park.

within this item.

Responding to a question asked by Mayor Michelle Romero regarding changes
to make daycare more flexible, Mr. Adams stated midrange facilities that do not
meet the 10,000 square foot lot requirements may request a conditional use
permit to reduce that requirement. Mr. Adams stated existing facilities are not
required to meet this new requirement.
