June 18, 2013
I. CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Hafen called the Special Meeting to order at 6:15 p.m., in the City
Council Chambers, City Hall, 240 Water Street, Henderson, Nevada 89015.
II. CONFIRMATION OF POSTING AND ROLL CALL
The City Clerk confirmed the Special Meeting had been noticed in compliance
with the Open Meeting Law by posting the Agenda three working days prior to
the meeting at City Hall, the Multigenerational Center, the Whitney Ranch
Recreation Center, and Fire Station No. 86, and by mailing a copy of the
Agenda to everyone appearing thereon on the Agenda Master Mailing List.

III. ACCEPTANCE OF AGENDA
(Motion)
Mayor Andy Hafen moved to accept the agenda as presented.
The roll call vote favoring passage was: Those voting aye: Sam Bateman,
Andy Hafen, Debra March, John F. Marz, and Gerri Schroder. Those voting
nay: None. Those absent: None. Those abstaining: None. Mayor Hafen
declared the motion carried.
IV. ITEMS OF BUSINESS
S-1 OATH OF OFFICE
MUNICIPAL COURT JUDGE, DEPARTMENT I
CITY CLERK'S OFFICE
The City Clerk will administer an Oath of Office and present a Certificate of
Election to the newly elected Municipal Court Judge, Department I.
(Action)
Sabrina Mercadante, City Clerk, administered the Oath of Office to
Mark Stevens, newly elected Municipal Court Judge, Department I.
Mayor Hafen announced that these meetings are being video recorded and
streamed live to the Web.
Mayor Hafen congratulated Judge Stevens, and announced that light
refreshments are being served in the Council Chambers Conference Room in
recognition of Judge Stevens.
V. PUBLIC COMMENT
There were no public comments presented.
VI. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Council, Mayor Hafen, in
concurrence with the Council, adjourned the Special Meeting at 6:21 p.m.

NOTICE

The Mayor reserves the right to hear agenda items out of order, combine two or more
agenda items for consideration, remove an item from the agenda, or delay discussion
relating to an item on the agenda at any time. All items are action items unless otherwise
noted.
Public comment will be taken on each agenda item as it is heard. If you desire to provide
public comment on an agenda item, please complete a yellow speaker card and submit it to
the City Clerk prior to the item being heard. Individuals speaking on an item will be limited to
three (3) minutes and spokespersons for a group will be limited to ten (10) minutes.

Items discussed under Public Comment cannot be acted upon at this meeting,
but may be referred by Council to the next Regular Meeting for consideration.
Public Comment will be limited to three (3) minutes at the discretion of the
Mayor.
