CITY OF HENDERSON COMMEMORATIVE BEAUTIFICATION COMMISSION SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES OCTOBER 25, 2016 I. CALL TO ORDER Recording Secretary, Joanne Wershba, called the Commemorative Beautification Commission to order at 6:00 p.m. at 105 W. Basic Road, in the Parks and Facilities Management Conference Room. II. CONFIRMATION OF POSTING AND ROLL CALL Joanne Wershba, Recording Secretary, confirmed the Commemorative Beautification Commission had been noticed in compliance with the Open Meeting Law by posting the Agenda three working days prior to the meeting at the Facilities Management Building, City Hall, the Multigenerational Center, the Whitney Ranch Recreation Center, Fire Station No. 86, the Nevada Public Notice Website, the City of Henderson Website, and by emailing a copy of the Agenda to everyone appearing thereon on the Agenda Master Mailing List. Present: Gina Denney Debra Jacobson Lupe Trujillo Andrew Turcaz Absent: Chair Casanova Vice Chair Denise Olsen Shauna Walch Staff: Preston Goodman, Staff Liaison and Municipal Forester Becky Risse, Assistant City Attorney III Joanne Wershba, Recording Secretary Note: In the absence of a Chair and Vice-Chair, Mr. Turcaz volunteered to preside over the meeting. Commemorative Beautification Commission Special Meeting Page 2 of 3 Tuesday, October 25, 2016 - Minutes III. PUBLIC COMMENT No comments were presented from the public. IV. ACCEPTANCE OF AGENDA (For Possible Action) (Motion) Ms. Trujillo introduced a motion to accept the agenda as presented, seconded by Ms. Jacobson. The vote favoring approval was unanimous. Acting Chair Turcaz declared the motion carried. V. NEW BUSINESS NB-1 ELECTION OF CHAIR PUBLIC WORKS, PARKS AND RECREATION Elect new Chair. Ms. Jacobson nominated Andrew Turcaz as Chair of the Commemorative Beautification Commission for 2016/2017, seconded by Ms. Trujillo. As no further nominations were made, the vote favoring approval was unanimous and Mr. Turcaz was declared Chair. NB-2 ELECTION OF VICE-CHAIR PUBLIC WORKS, PARKS AND RECREATION Elect new Vice-Chair Ms. Jacobson nominated Lupe Trujillo as Vice-Chair of the Commemorative Beautification Commission for 2016/2017, seconded by Mr. Turcaz. As no further nominations were made, the vote favoring approval was unanimous and Ms. Trujillo was declared Vice-Chair. NB-3 COMMEMORATIVE BEAUTIFICATION COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING DATE CHANGE FROM NOVEMBER 8, 2016, TO NOVEMBER 9, 2016. PUBLIC WORKS, PARKS AND RECREATION Reschedule the upcoming Commemorative Beautification Commission regular meeting from Tuesday, November 8, 2016, to Wednesday, November 9, 2016. Commemorative Beautification Commission Special Meeting Page 3 of 3 Tuesday, October 25, 2016 - Minutes (Motion) Ms. Jacobson introduced a motion to change the regular meeting date in November from November 8 to November 9, 2016, seconded by Ms. Denney. The vote favoring approval was unanimous. Chairman Turcaz declared the motion carried. VI. CHAIRMAN\MEMBER COMMENTS No comments were presented by the Chairman or members. VII. SET NEXT MEETING The next meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at 6:00 p.m.in the Parks and Facilities Management Building. VIII. PUBLIC COMMENT No comments were presented from the public. IX. NB-3 COMMEMORATIVE BEAUTIFICATION COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING DATE CHANGE FROM NOVEMBER 8, 2016, TO NOVEMBER 9, 2016. PUBLIC WORKS, PARKS AND RECREATION For Possible Action.
