CITY OF HENDERSON PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD COUNCIL CHAMBERS CONFERENCE ROOM MINUTES September 7, 2016 I. CALL TO ORDER The meeting of the Parks and Recreation Board was called to order by Chairman Jim Perkins at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers Conference Room, 240 Water Street, Henderson, Nevada. CONFIRMATION OF POSTING Paula Harris, Recording Secretary, confirmed the Parks and Recreation Board had been noticed in compliance with the Open Meeting Law by posting the agenda three working days prior to the meeting at City Hall, the Multigenerational Center, the Whitney Ranch Recreation Center, Fire Station No. 86, the Nevada Public Notice Website, the City of Henderson Website, and by mailing a copy of the agenda to everyone appearing thereon on the Agenda Master Mailing List. III. PUBLIC COMMENT There were no comments presented by the public. IV. ACCEPTANCE OF AGENDA (Motion) Ms. Nelson introduced a motion to accept the agenda, as presented. The vote favoring approval was unanimous. Chairman Perkins declared the motion carried. V. NEW BUSINESS NB-1 MINUTES JULY 6, 2016 Adopt the minutes of the July 6, 2016 meeting. (Motion) Mr. Chen introduced a motion to adopt the minutes, as presented. The vote favoring approval was unanimous. Chairman Perkins declared the motion carried. NB-2 PRESENTATION CADENCE Lee Ferris from The Landwell Company will be giving a presentation of the conceptual plan for the Cadence Parcel G neighborhood park. Lee Ferris from The Landwell Company gave a PowerPoint presentation on the conceptual plan for the Cadence Parcel G neighborhood park. Parks and Recreation Board Page 3 of 3 September 7, 2016 – Minutes NB-3 STAFF REPORT Announcements of upcoming grand openings, ground breakings, special events, awards, and/or programs. Sheri Ferguson, Asst. Director of Public Works, Parks and Recreation, presented the staff report which highlighted: Jamie Thalgott from the City Attorney’s office and upcoming events taking place at parks in the upcoming month. VI. CHAIRMAN\MEMBER COMMENTS: Chairman Perkins commended staff on their responsiveness to citizen’s concerns regarding programming. VII. SET NEXT MEETING: The next meeting was set for October 5, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. VIII. PUBLIC COMMENT There were no comments presented by the public. IX.
