CITY OF HENDERSONVILLE DOWNTOWN COMMUNITY CHARACTER MEETING - MAY 125 5th Avenue W, Hendersonville, NC 28792 Tuesday, May 04, 2021 – 9:00 AM MINUTES 1. CALL TO ORDER In attendance: Caroline Gunther, Patsy DuPre, Michele Sparks, Matthew Hickman attended virtually. Chris Cormier joined the meeting virtually. April 2021 Community Character Team Minutes Caroline Gunther made a motion to approve the April 2021 minutes, Patsy Dupre Seconded. Michele, Matthew, Caroline and Patsy were all in favor. 3. OLD BUSINESS 1. Community Character Workplan / Project Updates Jamie Carpenter, Downtown Manager updated on several downtown community character projects: - Pressure Washing will occur on Main Street in May. There was discussion among the team about more frequent pressure washing. Pressure washing all of Main Street costs between $6,000-$10,000 each time. We typically pressure wash after the Apple Festival but had remaining budget to do it this month since the Apple Festival did not occur. Future budgets may include more going toward public works which could support a regular power washing schedule. - The Depot area was cleaned up, with the tree removed to make more room in the plaza. Hanging baskets will go on the Depot instead of light posts on Maple Street because public works cannot easily access those poles to water. - Proposals are coming in for the 7th Avenue Branding project. 4. NEW BUSINESS 1. Facade Grant Application - 330 7th Avenue E The team reviewed the proposal presented by Dennis Dunlap and Lyle Charriff (property owner) for 330 7th Avenue E.
