CALL TO ORDER
Emily Davidson called the meeting to order at 4:37pm. Judy Moolten absent
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Jill Carter motioned to approve first followed by Alicia Stump
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Fiona McCully motioned to approve August 12, 2025 meeting minutes first followed by Jill Carter
PUBLIC COMMENT

CITY COUNCIL UPDATE
French Broad environmental impacts are scheduled to be completed this fall
Water & Sewer Commission update – City of Hendersonville and Henderson County approved
interlocal agreement
Arbor Day grant
- Caitlyn Gendusa added more details that the grant is for $35,000 and will include tree
giveaways, tree planting on City property, and contract work
OLD BUSINESS
Hendo Green Partnership Update - Jane Edgar, Member; Fiona McColley, Vice-Chair; and Caitlyn
Gendusa, Staff Liaison (7 minutes)
ESB members should update list of businesses and organizations to reach out to. Caitlyn Gendusa is
vetting list to ensure they are either located within City limits or are locally owned and operated
within the City.

Alicia Stump reached out to all farmers market vendors to sign up for Hendo Green Partnership

SDS at Farmers Market: September 13th - Symbolic Monarch Migration Month
Alicia Stump will help setup and Virginia Tegel will take over after from 7:30-10am and Omar
Zafra from 10am-1pm
ESB volunteers needed for 9/27 Chef Day at Farmers Market for compost of food scraps and
containers.
SDS at Farmers Market: October 11th
Kyla Christensen will be there from 10am-1pm.
NEW BUSINESS
Consideration of moving meetings back to the City Operations Assembly Room - Caitlyn Gendusa, Staff
Liaison
Unanimous approval to move meetings back to the City Operations Center assembly room
Hendo Earth Fest Update - Caitlyn Gendusa, Staff Liaison (5 minutes)
8. Review ESB Annual Report - Caitlyn Gendusa, Staff Liaison (10 minutes)
9. Edible landscaping and native plants - Virginia Tegel, Member (5 minutes)
Note from Caitlyn - Public Works recently planted 20 native berry bushes along the
Oklawaha Trail (35.335458, -82.464744). From talking with our Property Maintenance
Supervisor, the City prioritizes native plants and estimates about 90% of new plants
purchased are native.
Caitlyn Gendusa will send the letter to City Council requesting additional native,
pollinator, and open space landscaping and park space to board members to add to before
being sent out.
