CITY OF HENDERSONVILLE TREE BOARD City Operations Center | 305 Williams St. | Hendersonville, NC 28792 Monday, September 08, 2025 – 2:30 PM MINUTES MEETING NOTES Meeting not called to order – no quarum Members absent: Richard Bowerman, Natalie Wilcoxen, and Becca Doll. All other members present. Caitlyn Gendsa, Sustainability Manager serving as staff liaison. Educational Opportunities with Conserving Carolina & Caregiver's of Mother Earth - Pam Torlina, Community Engagement Director and Elle Travis, Chief Pollinator - Glenn is going to draft a letter to City Council requesting for City land enhancement with the goal of bringing nature to people where they are via urban environmental improvements (passive recreation, pollinator habitat, edible landscaping, and more). Educational Outreach Efforts - Glenn Lange, Member & Caitlyn Gendusa, Staff Liaison - Holistic Tree Care, September 17Th - Helene One Year Day of Remembrance & Resilience Tree Giveaway - Caitlyn will discuss - Farm City Day, October 4 – Caitlyn will work to secure native oak tree for planting. - Doug Tallamy "What's the Rush" video event, November 7th - Native Garden Design, date TBD Arbor Day Foundation Grant Update - Caitlyn Gendusa, Staff Liaison - Caitlyn is working alongside Property Maintenance staff to procure trees for giveaway and City land planting. Tree Board members should email Caitlyn any requests on specific locations to plant trees.
