Planning Board – Long Range Planning Committee Minutes of the Planning Board – Long Range Committee Virtual Meeting April 26, 2022 Members Present: Fred Nace, Jim Robertson Staff Present: Tyler Morrow, Planner II, Lew Holloway, Community Development Director, Matt Manley, Planning Manager Start Time: 3:05PM End Time: 4:07PM Long-Range Committee Meeting – RFP Comprehensive Plan Review A meeting was held via Zoom regarding the RFP and comprehensive plan review. Lew Holloway, Community Development Director, gave an update on the draft RFP for the comprehensive plan. Mr. Nace asked that the committee review the main points and any specific issues that need feedback. Topics discussed involved the potential additional budget increase based on preliminary feedback of a grant to help fund a focus on economic development / tourism as a component of the Comprehensive Plan, the suggestion that the consultants also review the Henderson County 2045 Comprehensive Plan draft, the potential for adding a third area of desired outcome to touch on the addition of new elements such as Economic Development chapter and increased focus on strategies related to housing. Notice: This meeting was noticed to the public in accordance with all requirements. The meeting was also attended by one local resident and a member of the media. 1
