1. CALL TO ORDER
A. Vote for New Board Chair
Glenn Lang nominated Natalie Wilcoxen for the Board Chair. Becca Doll seconded the motion.
The Board voted to approve Mrs. Wilcoxen as the new Board Chair.
2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA

4. NEW BUSINESS
A. Welcome New Members!

5. OLD BUSINESS
A. Ordinance Revisions- Glenn Lange
Committee is examining the code and attempting to make all of the language and terminology
ubiquitous across all ordinances.
B. Calendar Discussion

An annual calendar will be create for the Board.
C. Arbor Day Celebration
The Tree Board will invite Michele Garashi-Ellick from the Rotary Club to increase the visibility
and enhance the Arbor Day Celebration. Arbor Day is April 25, 2025
D. Bradford Pear Bounty - Becca Doll
The tentative date for this year’s Bounty is April 12, 2025. Becca will reach out to the folks at NC
State to confirm the dates.
E. Earth Fest –
The Tree Board will have a booth again this year and will do a similar tree giveaway. April 19th,
2025 Glenn will reach out to the organizers.
F. Farm City Day
Farm City Day is the first weekend in October and Board Members man a booth. Glenn will make
arrangements.
G. Replacing the Arbor Day Trees
The Tree Board plans to replace several dead trees that were planted in past years.
H. Educational Programs -Melody Crawford
There will be at least two education programs this year: The board voted for “The Right Tree in the
Right Place” and “Basic Tree care for Homeowners.” The news letter was also discussed.
I. Bee City USA
A gardener needs to be hired to replace Kelsey Ferro to maintain the Board’s pollinator beds this
summer. There needs to be more communication with the ESB concerning the Bee City Educational
Components.
J. Halfmoon Heights Wetlands Discussion
The board voted to support Mike Huffman’s request to add a 30’ buffer around a wetland on the
property.
6. OTHER BUSINESS
A. Natural Resource Board Discussion - The board the discussed the advantages and
disadvantages to transitioning to a Natural Resources Board.
B. Council Update.- Lyndsey Simpson raised concern over the effects of NC Senate Bill and a
temporary hold on all tree ordinance enforcement state wide through March 1st.
