CITY OF HIALEAH March 11, 2024 1:00 P.M. Immigration Workshop (MINUTES) I. Call to Order A. Mayor Bovo called the workshop to order at 1:06 p.m. B. The following Council Members were present: 1. Council President Tundidor 2. Council Vice President Garcia-Roves 3. Council Member Zogby 4. Council Member Perez arrived during the meeting. II. Presentations A. REPORT: Mayor Bovo spoke regarding the purpose of the workshop. B. REPORT: Jon Hansen, Placer AI, presented a PowerPoint presentation via Zoom. The presentation is on file with the Office of the City Clerk. C. REPORT: Tabitha Fazzino, Miami-Dade County Public Schools Bureau Chief, spoke and provided documentation for the information of the Mayor and the City Council, documentation which is on file with the Office of the City Clerk. D. REPORT: Roberto Alonso, Miami-Dade County Public Schools District 4 School Board Member, spoke regarding the immigration influx in Miami-Dade County Public Schools. E. REPORT: Randolph McGroty, 28 West Flagler Street, Floor #10, Executive Director of Catholic Legal Services, spoke regarding the immigration influx in churches. F. REPORT: Jacqueline Cabrera, 28 West Flagler Street. Floor #10, spoke regarding the immigration influx in churches. G.REPORT: Pastor Moises Garcia, Iglesia Rescate, 951 East 4th Avenue, spoke regarding the immigration influx in Iglesia Rescate.  H.REPORT: Pastor Enrique Alfonso, 7675 West 12th Avenue, Church of God, spoke regarding the immigration influx in the Church of God. I. REPORT: Captain Paul Garcia, Hialeah Fire Department, presented a PowerPoint presentation via Zoom. The presentation is on file with the Office of the City Clerk. III. Discussion A. REPORT: Mayor Bovo announced that the next Immigration Workshop is scheduled for April 15, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. IV. Adjournment A.
