CITY OF HIALEAH October 21, 2020 6:00 P.M. Historic Preservation Board Minutes REPORT: Chair Ulloa called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. I. Roll Call REPORT: Brigette Leal, Office of the City Clerk called the roll with the following Board Members present: • Chair, Mr. John Ulloa • Vice-Chair, Ms. Katrina Rey • Board Member, Mr. Enrique Vargas • Board Member, Ms. Annie Reatha Johnson REPORT: The following Board Member was absent: • Board Member, Mr. Paul Pantoja II. Agenda Items A. Request permission to approve the minutes of the Historic Preservation Board held on February 6, 2020. REPORT: Motion to approve Item A made by Board Member Vargas and seconded by Board Member Rey. Motion passed 4-0-1 with Board Member Pantoja absent. . B. Request permission to approve the naming of West 16th Court from West 44th Place to West 60th Street as “President Alvaro Uribe Velez Way”. REPORT: Motion to deny Item B made by Board Member Rey and seconded by Board Member Johnson. Motion passed 3-1-1 with Board Member Vargas voting “No” and Board Member Pantoja absent.  C. Request permission to approve the naming of West 8th Avenue from West 68th Street to West 70th Street as “Pastor Edwin Diaz Way” REPORT: Motion to approve Item C made by Board Member Vargas and seconded by Board Member Johnson. Motion passed 4-0-1 with Board Member Pantoja absent. . D. Request permission to approve the naming of East 8th Street from East 9th Street to Northwest 62nd Street as “Modesto Perez Way”. REPORT: Motion to approve Item D made by Board Member Johnson and seconded by Board Member Vargas. Motion passed 4-0-1 with Board Member Pantoja absent. . III. New Business • Chair Ulloa requested the section of the City of Hialeah Code of Ordinances, which refers to the attendance of board members. • Chair Ulloa spoke on designating a location as historical sites.
