Special Meeting September 28, 2023 Call to Order: Mayor Rathbone called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm. Jimmy Laws, Kathy Rhyne, Bobby Vassey, Bo Rhyne, Denese Cook, and Dennis Cash were in attendance. Invocation Pledge of Allegiance Discussion/Action: Hiring of open position (maintenance crew/water) Bo Rhyne made a motion to hire Joshua Solis under three months’ probation at $18 per hour. Denese seconded. After further discussion, Mr. Rhyne rescinded his motion. Bo Rhyne restated the motion that we hire Joshua Solis at $18 per hour, three months’ probation if his driving record is clear. Denese Cook seconded the motion, motion carried. Discussion/Action: Temporary Park Contracted Work Kathy Rhyne asked, “Why are we sourcing out work when we can use offenders?” To alleviate the workload on Robby is the purpose of outsourcing the park work. Denese Cook abstained from the vote. Bo Rhyne made the motion to have Cook’s Lawn Care & Maintenance be used on a weekly (per need) basis at the rate of $275.00. Bobby Vassey seconded the motion, motion carried. Adjournment: Bo Rhyne made the motion to adjourn, seconded by Bobby Vassey. All in favor.
