City Council Meeting

__________________________________________________________________________________ COMMON COUNCIL MINUTES Monday, September 18, 2023 The Common Council Meeting was called to order by Mayor Greg Kubarski on Monday, September 18, 2023 at 7:03 PM. All present stood and recited the Pledge of Alliance. Mayor Kubarski asked for affirmation of proper public notice to which City Clerk Sheila Schraufnagel confirmed the meeting did receive proper public notice. Roll call was taken with Alderpersons Leanne Beyer, Rick Hanke, Thomas Hotek, Mark Lankey, Patricia Moen, Darrow Novy, Elizabeth Parish, and Randall Seeley present. Others in attendance were: City Administrator Joshua Finch, City Clerk Sheila Schraufnagel, Police Chief Patrick Clark, and Hillsboro Sentry Editor, Nicolette Nauman. Motion by Hanke, seconded by Beyer to approve the August 21, 2023 Common Council minutes. Motion carried. Motion by Lankey, seconded by Hotek to approve the monthly bills for payment. Motion carried. Motion by Hanke, seconded by Moen to approve Operator License #35-2023. Motion carried. Motion by Hanke, seconded by Moen to approve Dollar General Store #6914 new agent, Quinn Fuentes. Motion carried. Motion by Lankey, seconded by Hanke to approve the Contract for Maintenance Assessment Services between the City of Hillsboro and Associated Appraisal Consultants in the amount of $12,000 for each of the 2024, 2025, and 2026 assessment years. Motion carried. Discussion was held in regards to the purchase of a John Deere Utility Tractor in the amount of $30,000 after trade-in from Hillsboro Equipment, Inc. Motion by Hanke, seconded by Beyer to approve the purchase of the John Deere Utility Tractor in the amount of $30,000. Motion carried. Motion by Hotek, seconded by Hanke to adjourn at 7:08 PM. Motion carried.
