BOROUGH OF HO-HO-KUS COMBINED MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL AND THE PLANNING BOARD JUNE 20, 2017-7:30 PM MINUTES Mayor Randall called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM. The opening statement was read. This is a combined meeting of the Mayor and Council and the Planning Board of the Borough of Ho-Ho-Kus, and members of the public are welcome to be present at this meeting. Under Chapter 80, Public Laws of 2002, Public Comment is allowed at this meeting. The comment period placement is established by the Mayor and Council. The governing body has the discretion to set the length of time for public comment. At Roll members present were Mayor Randall, Councilmembers Rorty, Shell, Iannelli, Fiato and Crossley. Also present were Borough Administrator Bill Jones and Attorney David Bole. Absent: Councilmember Troast Also present were members of the Planning Board. Messrs. Berardo (absent), Pierson, Reade (absent), Newman (absent), Carrick, Policastro (absent at time of roll call; arrived at 7:40PM), Jones, Councilman Rorty, Chairman Hanlon, Mayor Randall Also present: Borough Planner Edward Snieckus, Daniel Hauben, Clarke Caton Hintz, Planning Board Secretary, JoAnn Carroll. DISCUSSION: PLANNING BOARD Mr. Snieckus stated that he and Mr. Hauben came before the Governing Body and Planning Board to for an overview and draft discussion of the Fair Share Housing Plan and Ordinances and documents related to the Fair Share Housing Plan. CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES 1. April 18, 2017 Work Session 2. April 25, 2017 Public Meeting 3. May 16, 2017 Work Session 4. May 23, 2017 Public Session ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT William Jones: Saddle Brook Road will remain closed. Bridge is in need of repairs. It’s past the scope of the borough engineer. It is an emergency situation, not a bid process, just got quotes to expedite the process. Paving project completed. Grant money will be applied towards Ferris Court Paving. Councilmember Rorty commented that there were considerable delays with the last bridge repairs because of payment. Mr. Rorty asked if there can be a bonus if the work is done before estimated time. Mr. Jones stated that there is a timeline for completion of work, if not there will be a penalty for going past the due date. PUBLIC DISCUSSION Stanley Kober 919 Washington Ave asked about the progress with the County Police Resolution. Mr. Jones responded that he left a message with the County Office and is awaiting a response. Concerns that were discussed in the past were being held off. There would be no lay-offs for now. Chamber of Commerce Taste of Ho-Ho-Kus was a great success. 232 Tickets were sold. Ridgewood resident won the Raffle. Planning great ideas for next year’s Taste of Ho-Ho-Kus NEW BUSINESS None 2 MAYOR'S REMARKS Mayor Randall and Councilmember Shell attended the Eagle Scout ceremony and the ECLC graduation. CLOSED SESSION ADJOURNMENT With no further discussion to come before the Council, Mayor Randall adjourned the meeting at 9:10 PM.
