MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY CITY OF HOBART, LAKE COUNTY, INDIANA February 20, 2013 Call to Order – Moment of Silence: Mayor Snedecor called the meeting to order at 4:03 p.m. followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll Call: The following members were present: Mayor Snedecor and Mr. Lain. Absent: Attorney DeBonis and Mr. Ehrhardt. Also present: Clerk-Treasurer Longer and Trish White, C-T Admin. Asst. Reading of Minutes: Motion by Mr. Lain, seconded by Mr. Snedecor, to accept and approve the Regular Meeting minutes of February 6, 2013 as presented. All aye, motion carried. (2-0) Correspondence: There was no correspondence. Approval of Claims: Motion by Mr. Lain, seconded by Mr. Snedecor, to accept and approve the claims lists and payroll claims lists as presented. All aye, motion carried. (2-0) Approval of Agenda: Motion by Mr. Lain, seconded by Mr. Snedecor, to approve the agenda as presented. All aye, motion carried. (2-0) Unfinished Business: There was no unfinished business. New Business: Attorney DeBonis arrives Request to extend agreement: Latex Paint Recycling with Porter County: Mr. Dubach stated there is a three year extension available but he would like the Board to review it annually. He requested to extend this agreement until the end of this year. Motion by Mr. Lain, seconded by Mr. Snedecor, to extend this agreement until 12/31/13. All aye, motion carried. (2-0) Crossing Guard contract: Hobart High School: This is up each year for renewal, it is an item that School City of Hobart reimburses the City for. Motion by Mr. Snedecor, seconded by Mr. Lain, to approve the contract as presented. All aye, motion carried. (2-0) Authorization to advertise for bids: CDBG Ramp Initiative 2012-2013: Mr. Dammarell stated that this is for restoration, removal and replacement of curbs and sidewalks. Signs are to be installed. Ad to be run twice, first publication Wednesday Feb. 27th. Attorney DeBonis stated he has reviewed and recommends approval. Motion by Mr. Lain, seconded by Mr. Snedecor, to approve the advertisement for bids. All aye, motion carried. (2-0) Announcements: Mr. Snedecor asked if anyone wished to address the Board there was no response. Adjournment: Motion by Mr. Lain to adjourn. All aye, motion carried.
