MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY CITY OF HOBART, LAKE COUNTY, INDIANA May 15, 2013 Call to Order – Moment of Silence: Mayor Snedecor called the meeting to order at 4:01 p.m. followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll Call: The following members were present: Mr. Snedecor, Mr. Ehrhardt and Mr. Lain. Also present: Clerk-Treasurer Longer and Trish White, C-T Admin. Asst. Absent: Attorney DeBonis. Reading of Minutes: Motion by Mr. Lain, seconded by Mr. Snedecor, to accept and approve the Regular Meeting minutes of May 1, 2013 as presented. All aye, motion carried. (3-0) Correspondence: Mrs. Longer distributed the circuit breaker information from the Auditor’s Office. Approval of Claims: Motion by Mr. Ehrhardt, seconded by Mr. Lain, to accept and approve the claims lists and payroll claims lists as presented. All aye, motion carried. (3-0) Approval of Agenda: Motion by Mr. Lain, seconded by Mr. Ehrhardt, to approve the agenda as presented. All aye, motion carried. (3-0) Unfinished Business: Continued Order to Comply: Robert Berndt re: 6851 Grand Blvd: Mr. Berndt and family were present. Mr. Lain gave an overview of discussions that have taken place between city staff and the family. Robert Berndt II spoke on behalf of his father stating that it is their intention to renovate and rehabilitate the house not to have it demolished. Motion by Mr. Lain, seconded by Mr. Ehrhardt, to review this item July 17, 2013 per the agreed timeline for full compliance with interim progress reports by staff. All aye, motion carried. (3-0) New Business: Consideration of Stormwater Long Term Operation & Maintenance Agreement: Mr. Kingsland and Mr. Gralik stated there were no problems. The Permit Number is 2013-004-C. Motion by Mr. Lain, seconded by Mr. Ehrhardt, to approve the agreement as presented. All aye, motion carried. (3-0) Announcements: As a reminder MRC Senior Center is having a sock-hop Friday, May 17, 2013. Saturday, May 18, 2013 is the city wide trash or treasure sale. Mr. Snedecor asked if anyone wished to address the Board there was no response. Adjournment: Motion by Mr. Ehrhardt to adjourn. All aye, motion carried.
