MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY CITY OF HOBART, LAKE COUNTY, INDIANA JANUARY 21, 2015 Call to Order – Moment of Silence: Mr. Snedecor called the meeting to order at 4:02 p.m. followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll Call: The following members were present: Mr. Lain, Mr. Ehrhardt and Mr. Snedecor. Also present Attorney DeBonis, Clerk-Treasurer Longer and Admin. Asst. Trish White. Reading of Minutes: Motion by Mr. Lain, seconded by Mr. Ehrhardt, to accept and approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 7, 2015 as presented. All aye, motion carried. (3-0) Correspondence: The Mayor reported the Wellness Testing resulted at a 90% participation rate and is happy that employees are taking their health seriously and appreciates all that participated. Approval of Register of Claims and Payroll Claims: Motion by Mr. Ehrhardt, seconded by Mr. Lain, to accept and approve the register of claims and payroll claims as presented. All aye, motion carried. (3-0) Approval of Agenda: Motion by Mr. Ehrhardt, seconded by Mr. Lain, to approve the agenda as presented. All aye, motion carried. (3-0) Unfinished Business Review: Request for Traffic Light at 1 W. Old Ridge Rd. re: Hobart Church of Nazarene, Dave Hill: Mr. Snedecor read a letter that he received from Mr. Hill with M2K Design, stating the Church at this time is putting on hold due to funding. A drawing was attached and should be included as part of the file for future consideration when funds do become available. Motion by Mr. Snedecor, seconded by Mr. Lain, to remove this item from the agenda at the request of the petitioner. All aye, motion carried. (3-0) New Business Consideration of Extension of Asphalt Paving Contract from 2014- through 2015: Walsh & Kelly, Inc.: Attorney DeBonis asked the Board to table this item. Motion by Mr. Ehrhardt, seconded by Mr. Lain, to table this item until 2/18/15 for further review. All aye, motion carried. (3-0) Acceptance of Conflict of Interest Disclosure Statement for 2015: This is a standard conflict of interest disclosure for Shelia DeBonis as a RDC Board member. Motion by Mr. Lain, seconded by Mr. Ehrhardt, to accept the uniform conflict of interest disclosure statement as presented. All aye, motion carried. (3-0) Announcement: The Annual Chili Supper for the Hobart Kiwanis is Thursday, Jan. 22 at 4:00 p.m. Mr. Snedecor asked if there was anyone who wished to address the Board and there was no response. Adjournment: Motion by Mr. Lain to adjourn. All aye, motion carried.
