MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY CITY OF HOBART, LAKE COUNTY, INDIANA December 29, 2017 Call to Order: Mayor Snedecor called the meeting to order at 4:03 p.m. followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll Call: The following members were present: Mr. Lain, Mr. Ehrhardt, and Mayor Snedecor. Also present: C-T Longer. Approval of Agenda: Motion by Mr. Lain, seconded by Mr. Ehrhardt, to approve the agenda as presented. All aye, motion carried. (3-0) New Business: Resolution 2017-13: A Resolution Authorizing the Acquisition of a Rear Loader Garbage Truck by the City as a “Special Purchase”: The Resolution was read. Glenn Linhart, Best Equipment, was present, he stated the truck is a National Joint Power Alliance (NJPA) purchase and the pricing is set without bids needed. The truck is ready to be delivered within 7-10 days and it has a clean diesel engine. Motion by Mr. Ehrhardt, seconded by Mr. Lain, to approve Resolution 2017-13 as presented in the amount of $176,577.50 with delivery anticipated within 2 weeks. All aye, motion carried. (3-0) Announcements: There were no Announcements. Adjournment: Motion by Mr. Ehrhardt, seconded by Mr. Lain, to adjourn the meeting. All aye, motion carried.
