NOTICE OF REGULAR MEETING DEER COMMITTEE MONDAY, JULY 10, 2023, AT 5:30 P.M. 2 MECCA DRIVE, HOLLYWOOD PARK, TEXAS 78232 AGENDA I. CALL TO ORDER II. ROLL CALL III. SWEARING IN OF NEW COMMITTEE MEMBERS IV. APPROVE MINUTES FROM APRIL 11, 2023 REGULAR DEER COMMITTEE MEETING V. REVIEW, DISCUSS, AND TAKE POSSIBLE ACTION ON FINANCIALS OF DEER COMMITTEE AS OF MAY 31, 2023 (Note: 2023-2024 Financial Workshops are in August) VI. DISCUSS AND APPROVE WILDLIFE INCIDENT REPORTS VII. CITIZEN PARTICIPATION A maximum of three (3) minutes per person is allowed. Time cannot be passed to other speakers. Those wishing to speak should sign up before the meeting begins. VIII. NEW BUSINESS 1. Review, discuss, and take possible action on election of Deer Committee Officers, and issues related thereto. 2. Review and discuss status of Texas Parks & Wildlife’s and Texas Animal Health Commission’s developments on Chronic Waste Disease (CWD), CWD samples and issues related thereto. 3. Review, discuss, and take possible action on predator control, and issues related thereto. 4. Review and discuss updates on Trap, Transport, and Process (TTP) and issues related thereto. 5. Review, discuss, and take possible action on obtaining the TTP permit prior to any decisions made on TTP course of action. Early procurement of the permit would be done only as a timing factor and bears no commitment to any action on TTP. 6. Review, discuss, and take possible action on Deer Project Manager Randy Tomasini’s recertification for shooting class and issues related thereto. 7. Review, discuss, and take possible action on H.P. Deer Management expenditures and issues related thereto.  8. Review and discuss the results of the May 18, 2023 Spring Deer Census and issues related thereto. 9. Review, discuss and take possible action on the 2023 Fall Deer Census and issues related thereto. (2022 fall census was on September 22 at 7:00 pm) 10. Approximately 6:00 pm - Texas Parks & Wildlife Department’s presentation on Chronic Waste Disease and Question & Answer session. VIII. CONSIDERATION OF DATE AND AGENDA FOR NEXT COMMITTEE MEETING IX. The deer committee may vote and/or act upon any item within this agenda. Attendance by other elected or appointed officials: it is anticipated that members of the city council, or other city board, commissions and/or committees may attend the meeting in numbers that may constitute a quorum of the other city boards, commissions and/or committees. Notice is hereby given that the meeting, to the extent required by law, is also noticed as a meeting of the other boards, commissions and/or committees of the city, whose members may be in attendance. The members of the boards, commissions and/or committees may participate in discussions on the same items listed on the agenda, which occur at the meeting, but no action will be taken by such in attendance unless such item and action is specifically provided for on an agenda for that board, commission or committee subject to the Texas Open Meetings Act.
