Fire Meeting

HORTONVILLE/HORTONIA FIRE DISTRICT BOARD​ FIRE DISTRICT MEETING 6:00 pm Wednesday, April 8, 2026 700 W. Nye St, Hortonville, WI MINUTES 1.​ Call to order a.​ Roll call: Tom Banker, Jim Moeller, Mike Bellile, Dennis Clegg Andy Moeller, Nancy Willenkamp 2. Fire/EMS 2026 budgets to date a.​ The fire budget was presented and discussed b.​ Chad VanLanen informed us that the EMS budget was not available for this meeting due to medical issues with their treasurer 3. Fire/EMS 2026 calls to date a.​ Fire-30 calls (up from last year) b.​ EMS calls were not available 4. Discuss Hortonville/Hortonia ambulance service a.​ Nathan Treadwill, our village administrator, talked to the group about the Hortonville Fire/EMS taking over management of the Gold Cross Ambulance Service agreement and adjusting our annual budget to include money to pay for this service. b.​ As a group we will decide whether the service will be managed by the Fire or EMS service. c.​ Hortonia will also be checking with their board and lawyer as to how they will handle their ambulance service 5. Open Forum a.​ Jack informed us that we now have an agreement with Dale Fire department for Auto Aid, with contracts being signed at the meeting. b.​ Jack informed us that the department is looking at two different options to increase our building space. 1.​ Add on an additional bay on the west end of the fire hall at a cost of $300,000. 2.​ Build a stand alone 30’ X 40’ building for roughly $50,000.  8.
