VILLAGE OF HORTONVILLE Senior Activities Committee Meeting Minutes Thursday July 10, 2025 at 12:00 pm (feel free to bring your lunch) 1. Call to Order by Pat at 12:10pm 2. Attending: Lauren Prochnow, Rose Gorski, Pat Lund-Moe, Sarah Bultman, Lisa Springstroh (12:30 arrival); Absent: Joanne Mueller, Jane Olk, Verna Zimmerman; Others attending: Jeanne Bellile 3. Introductions as needed 4. Agenda Changes-none 5. Approval of June 12, 2025 meeting minutes motion [Bultman, Springstroh] to approve June 12, 2025 meeting minutes. Unanimous voice vote. Motion carried. 6. Thank you cards for speakers and donors (signed during meeting) 7. Committee Member Terms/Nominations and scheduling Elections of Officers – Members absent, item tabled to August meeting. 8. Review of activities since last meeting June 16th: Indigenous Dancer – the professor was very informative and appealed more to the older crowd. He will be returning later in the fall to speak to the youth. July 7th: Picnic with Rec Program – there were about 100 children from rec and about 9 adults. They were brainstorming on how to best bring people in next year. Maybe invitations, maybe an outdoor venue? 9. Upcoming Activities July 14th: Coffee with Shannon Bonin, RN to discuss strokes July 21st: Birthday Bingo Bash – expecting a big turnout, maybe have a source of speaking so they can be heard. August 4th: Potluck - August 11th: Coffee – presentation on hearing concerns, hearing aids – come with questions ready. August 18th: Birthday-field trip – looking to do a field trip to the Green Bay Botanical Gardens. Pat to look into renting a small bus from HASD to go. Motion [SB, RG] to charge a rate of $17 per rider to the Green Bay Botanical Gardens with Senior activities to cover the rest of the expense. Ayes – 4, nays 0, motion carried. Holiday party-sub-committee? Senior activities looking into “day time” holiday party on Monday, December 15 at 12:00. 10. Communications: August/September Calendars and September Village Voice 11. Autumn Fest Badger Talks follow-up – First 2 speakers were unavailable; 3rd speaker was available. Committee moved to contact the third speaker for Autumn Fest regarding Alzheimer’s and memory loss. Updates on location contracts, etc. St. Peter & Paul was in agreement with the contracts; Flyer prep for attendees Sponsorships update – Still have 1 sponsorship opening that we’re hoping to fill. 12. Community/Senior Center Community Foundation information  Review of tours: Opera House; New London Senior Center; scheduling tours: Waupun, Waupaca, Clintonville - tour was taken of the Clintonville Senior Center. Discussion on other ideas for locations, services, etc. 13. Items for Future Agendas Autumn Fest Community Center Field Trips/programs 14. Future meeting dates: August 7th, September 11th 15. Meeting adjourned at 1:47 p.m. The mission of the Senior Activities Committee is to focus on educational, recreational and health/wellness opportunities for the senior community in and around Hortonville.
