VILLAGE OF HORTONVILLE Senior Activities Committee Meeting Minutes Thursday September 11, 2025 at 12:00 pm 1. Call to Order at 12:02 2. Attendance: Jane Olk, Sarah Bultman, Joanne Mueller, Rose Gorski, Verna Zimmerman, Lisa Sprinstroh, Pat Lund-Moe. Absent: Laura Prochnow Jeanne Bellile, Village President; Nancy Osborne, guest 3. Agenda Changes- None 4. Approval of August 7, 2025 meeting minutes: Sarah moved, Rose seconded, approved 5. Thank you cards for speakers and donors: Pat will prepare for Monday 6. Review of activities since last meeting August 11th: Coffee – presentation on hearing concerns, hearing aids; : Very interesting, well organized, answered questions. Possible library program will be considered. August 18th: Field Trip to Green Bay Botanical Gardens: bus rented thru HASD. Good feedback, enjoyable trip. September 8: Nathan and Aaron from Village presented information on future plans for downtown, reviewed what’s been done. Well received. 7. Upcoming Activities September 15th: Reed Schneider/Historical Society on 1974 Teacher’s Strike: plan refreshments, room set-up, introductions…promote volunteering at school for reading and donations of school snacks October 6th: Potluck, National German-American Day: German music, polka; Play bingo and have German trivia tidbits (Sarah in charge); Sarah will pick up German candy from Aldi; flags from Jane October 14th: Autumn Fest---discussion to follow October 21st: Halloween bag assembly at Care Partners: Rose/Joann will set up time/room with Care Partners; could bring folding tables if needed to facilitate a more efficient process; get totes or boxes instead of garbage bags for bags to store for Village Holiday party-planning ; Thrivent card ($250) available via Jane. 8. Communications: October/November Calendars November: 3rd: National Sandwich Day; Outagamie County Recycling Center to speak November 10: Veteran’s coffee: Pat to follow up with Legion re availability November 17: Green and Gold Movie 9. Autumn Fest Badger Talks follow-up: all set. PR information available to use if we would like it. Program---needs to be reviewed, updated. Sponsorships/ agency booth updates presented. Pat/Lauren to send follow-up e-mails Door prizes/baskets solicitation: reviewed possible contacts to request donations Set up: Monday at 10 at St. P&P 10. Community/Senior Center scheduling tours: Waupun, Waupaca, Clintonville: plan for after Autumn Fest 11. Items for Future Agendas Library offering a 4th Monday activity for seniors Committee Member Terms/Nominations and scheduling Elections of Officers Autumn Fest Community Center Field Trips/programs 13.
