Minutes Airport Advisory Committee May 21, 2024 12:00 PM Hot Springs Memorial Field 525 Airport Rd, Suite 100 Meeting called to order by Wendy Harris. 1. Roll Call Committee Members Committee Members present: Scott Lauck, Mike Abram, Darren Clark, Mike Abram. Absent Alex Mouton and Trent Foreman. Staff: Don Rowlett, Kent Trice and Wendy Harris. 2. Consider Approval of the Agenda Darren Clark made a motion to approve the June 18, 2024 agenda. Mike seconded the motion to approve the agenda as presented. Motion passed. 3. Consider Approval of the Minutes Mike made a motion to approve the May 21, 2024 minutes. Darren seconded the motion to approve the minutes as presented. Motion passed. 4. Introduction of Guests No Guests Present 5. Airport Director’s Report Virtower Report – 2051 movements for the month of April. In March the average was 77 movements per day. The increase in traffic from March to April is due the Eclipse. So far for May 2024 the total is 1011 movements to date. Fountain Lake Students – 35 students visited KHOT for a Field trip on May 16, 2024. One student interested in volunteering. Two New Positions – Temporary / Seasonal – Lineman, 20 hours per week. Scope of work will be fueling, towing, marshalling aircrafts, fire, safety along with mowing and weed eating. Positions will be from June to October. With one possibly becoming a Full-time Lineman. Part 139 Position – Angelie Blomkvist will start Monday, June 3, 2024. Recent grad from Fountain Lake High School who was recommended from a teacher at Fountain Lake High School. Dogwood Landscape – Landscape contract began on Monday, May 13, 2024. They will be here weekly on Monday and Tuesday’s. South Ramp Hangar – Grants were approved for the hangars. Michael Hutchins has pulled out of the hangar build. KHOT will go ahead with the build using the reserve funds. Runway 3 – Will be going into hangar A-14. They will occupy 1 bay, ramp space and office space. This will be their main location with Arizona staying as the satellite location. Page 1 of 2 6. Old Business A. Airborne – The $122,000.00 balance has gone to the City Director and City Attorney. Bill Burrough, Lance Spicer, Don Rowlett and JB Kirk (owner of Airborne) will meet Tuesday, May 28, 2024 next week to walk through the hangar and look at maintenance. B. FAA Inspection – Will take place June 4-6, 2024. Kent has linemen working on getting taxiways sealed, runway & taxiway lighting repaired, clearing off signage and markings coordinating with ARFF for Fire Department portion. 7. New Business A. Terminal Roof – Information is with the city. We need to get that repaired for leaks. B. Grants – In July will apply for State Grants to repair hangars. 8. Committee Members Comments and Questions None at this time. 9. Announcement of Next Meeting Date Next meeting is Tuesday, June 18, 2024, 12:00 P.M., Airport Conference Room, 525 Airport Rd. 10.
