MINUTES HOT SPRINGS ARTS ADVISORY COMMITTEE August 9, 2022, 2022 12:00 PM 111 Opera Street, Suite A 1. Roll Call of Committee Members Committee Members present: Dale Blackwelder, Nan Cameron, June Simmons, Kara Gunter, JoAnn Mangione, Alix Stafford, and Eli Vega. Staff: Anthony Whittington, Kathleen Fason. 2. Approval of the Agenda Nan made a motion to approve the August 9, 2022 agenda. June seconded. Motion passed. 3. Approval of the Minutes June made a motion to approve the July 12, 2022 minutes. Dale seconded. Motion passed. 4. Introduction of Guests 5. BUSINESS: A. Call for Artist/RFP Jean W. Wallace Wetlands Trailhead: Kara had sent over her finished Call for Artist form to Anthony and he took it with him for a meeting at Finance. The RFP has been released with a deadline of August 29, 2022. All members will forward link to bid packet out to fellow artists who may be interested in bidding. B. Tranquility Garden Progress: Kathleen showed the price and design of the plaque to the members. It was agreed that we inquire about the cost of the plaque being more due to the border. Kathleen will contact the company about that but if the price is the same she will go ahead with the order. C. Lion and Ballerina Placement Discussion: Payment has been made to the Baker’s for the sculptures and they will be contacting Parks Maintenance about delivery of the pieces near the end of August. Several suggestions were made about the location for installation and a final decision was made to place them in the area of the Ole Troll Trail section of the Hot Springs Creek Greenway Trail. Members will meet with Anthony on Friday, August 26 at 11 AM to walk the area and mark the locations. D. Grants, Fundraising Suggestions: N/A 6. Arts Advisory Committee comments: 7.
