He also explained the challenges the contractor has faced trying to keep the proper balance in a flood zone. They have to remove as much material as they bring into the area. The project was temporarily shut down by the City Engineering Department due to the balance not being observed. Phase 2 grant application for an outdoor recreational grant will be submitted well before the deadline. B) Southern Trail, Phase 1 & 2 Update: Phase 1 is active and the contractor is currently building up low spots. It is a 240-day project but timeline depends on the bridges. This phase will be a 1-mile multi-use trail to TV Hill Road. Phase 2 will be bid out in the next couple of weeks. Anthony asked the committee about the type of Trailhead sign they would like to see there. It was suggested that a rock look would be nice in the wetlands area. Kathleen stated that traditionally the signage along the greenway trail has remained consistent and all looked the same. It was suggested that we could have it made to look the same as the one at Transportation Plaza. Sculpture call for artists RFP is out till 8/29/22. The sculpture will be designed for the 92 ft. circumference at the trailhead wrap around parking area. C) 2023 Budget Requests: Anthony went over the capital budget requests.
