HesaidtheCityperformedathoroughengineeringreviewand ManualonUniformTrafficControlDevices (MUTCD, fromtheFederalHighwayAdministration) guidelinereviewand foundthesignsdidnotmeetwarrantsatthecurrentvolumeoftrafficandexistingsightdistances,andthatthereforethe staffwasrecommendingremovalofthesigns. Mr.KulhavyconfirmedCouncilmember’squestionthattheCouncilcould choosetoleavethesignandtheMayor’s notethatstopsignswerenotprofessionallytobeviewedastrafficcontrol devices,eventhoughtheymayactinthatmanner.
