HUNTSVILLE ARTS COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2020, 5:00 P.M.
The Wynne Home Arts and Visitor Center,
1428 11th Street, Huntsville, Texas, 77340
Commission Members in attendance: Jaspyr Sanford, John Escobedo, Michael Henderson,
Rosalyn Kelly, and Margaret Smith
Staff Members in attendance: Sarah Faulkner-Cultural Services Manager
I. The meeting was called to order at 5:07 p.m. by Jaspyr Sanford.
II. There was no citizen input.
III. The January 2020 minutes were approved on a motion by Michael Henderson and
seconded by Margaret Smith.
IV. Sarah Faulkner gave an update on the status of the Arts Commission grants and
the upcoming Cultural District grant.
V. Sarah Faulkner approached the Commission with a request from the Chamber of
Commerce to sponsor the children’s mural at Fair on the Square in the amount of
$1200. The motion to fully fund the children’s mural was approved with a motion
by Margaret Smith and seconded by Rosalyn Kelly.
VI. Informational items were distributed on Darryl Patrick’s exhibit-The American
Dream-which will be in the gallery until May, the Historical Marker Dedication
which is on February 22nd, the SHSU Thesis Dance Concert which is also on
February 22nd, and the Empty Bowls Fundraiser which will take place on February
25th.
VII. The meeting was adjourned at 5:31 on a motion by John Escobedo and a second by
Rosalyn Kelly.

551, Sections. If a Closed or Executive session is held in accordance with the Texas Government Code as set out above, the
Board will reconvene in Open Session in order to take action, if necessary, on the items addressed during Executive Session.
