WAR BONNET ROUNDUP RODEO ADVISORY COMMITTEE Thursday, June 23, 2022 Sandy Downs 11:00 a.m. Members in Attendance: K. Jones, K. Staten, D. Marshall, B. Robertson, C. Price, D. Sorensen, C. Horsley, J. Stephens, R. Campbell, H. Pettingill, R. Buchan Members not in Attendance: J. Newgard, B. Skinner, P. Holm, B. Cranor Call to Order K. Jones called the meeting to order at 11:07 am. Approval of Minutes K. Staten moved to amend and approve the June 9th minutes. D. Marshall seconded. All in favor. Director Report – P. Holm (absent) Chairman/Production – K. Jones • Lelo Garcia will not be working the rodeo this year and so he and Chuck Swisher submitted names of bullfighters to K. Jones. • K. Jones and K. Staten were introduced to “Rodeo Tickets” a program that has more options and is less expensive than our current ticket software company Eventbrite. K. Staten motioned that we change programs for the 2023 season. D. Marshall seconded. All in favor. P. Holm will make the ultimate decision. • K. Jones suggests we only use Wade Thornely’s Belgium team for the final rodeo night this year. This is due to the time it takes to prepare the horses. It was suggested that if needed we increase his fee to a max of $300.00. D. Marshall moves to use the horses Saturday night only and increase the fee if needed. K. Staten seconded. All in favor.  • K. Jones asked committee members on their thoughts for the tribal opening. There was committee discussion on the riders and the drummers. K. Staten and K. Jones will reach out to our tribe liaison to discuss. • We will have Brooklyn the trick rider back all four nights of the event this year. She will perform alone. Committee Reports Military Affairs/American Legion – B. Skinner (absent) Hospitality/Sponsorships – K. Staten • The Mutton Bustin qualifier was discussed and items that will be needed including the sound system and a generator. She suggested as many committee members as possible attend to help. • She is meeting with I.E. Productions following the War Bonnet meeting to get the advertising lined up. • The Idaho Falls Airport will be advertising for the rodeo via speaker being played in baggage pickup. • A new board photo needs taken as soon as our next meeting if possible. • K. Staten has reached out to several area caterers and is finding it difficult to find one who has the ability to cater an event as large as the War Bonnet. • The sponsors are all confirmed. • All paid advertising has been purchased. • The rodeo programs are being worked on. Facilities/Grounds & Security – R. Campbell/J. Stephens • The security for the rodeo is set and ready. No further updates. Media/Emergency Action Plan – B. Cranor (absent) Youth Rodeo/Family Night – C. Horsley • The petting zoo has been confirmed. • Champs Heart will conduct the pony rides. • The dunk tank is reserved. • He will check with Sky High rentals on bounce houses. • Jon Clark will be working on arena banners. Financial Report –C. Price • C. Price inquired about the timing of the tickets, so that they can be delivered to the outlets.
