SPECIAL MEETING, MAY 26, 2022
OFFICIAL MINUTES
The special meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Heinrich at 4:57 P.M.
Roll Call showed the following members present: Mayor Heinrich, Council Members Buchanan,
Kamlitz, and Steele, Assistant City Attorney Geroux, and City Auditor Hellekson. Absent: Council
Member Schloegel.
Council Member Buchanan moved a Resolution authorizing the purchase of radios and communication
equipment approved for operation on the statewide SIRN2020 network for the Police and Fire
Departments as budgeted in 2021 and 2022, to be purchased from Jamestown Communications under
State of ND contract #076-02 until June 30, 2023, in the amount of $122,827.00, for Fire and
$171,270.40 for Police to be paid from the General Fund, with the State of ND reimbursing the
Jamestown Fire Department $75,000 and the Jamestown Police Department $79,500, and authorize the
Mayor and/or City Administrator to sign necessary documents. Seconded by Council Member
Kamlitz. Roll Call No. 1 showed: 4 ayes, 0 nays, 1 absent. Carried.
Council Member Steele moved a Resolution to authorize and approve an Indemnity and Hold Harmless
Agreement between Ronald Huber and Rita Huber, Midway Township, and the City of Jamestown for a
subsurface stormwater collection system adjacent to and within Block 1, Lots 2 and 3, Countryside Estates,
owned by Ronald and Rita Huber, and located in the City’s extraterritorial zone, and authorize the Mayor to
sign the Agreement contingent upon approval by Midway Township. Seconded by Council Member Kamlitz.
Roll Call No. 2 showed: 4 ayes, 0 nays, 1 absent. Carried.
Council Member Kamlitz moved a Resolution to approve the request from Jamestown Country Club-
Elks 995 for a permit to conduct a street dance on Friday, June 17, 2022, in the Elks Club Parking Lot
and 4th St SW from 2nd Ave SW westward to the alley. Seconded by Council Member Steele. Roll Call
No. 3 showed: 4 ayes, 0 nays, 1 absent. Carried.
Council Member Kamlitz moved to adjourn at 5:07 P.M. Seconded by Council Member Steele.
Unanimous aye vote. Carried.
