Forestry Committee

Minutes Forestry Committee 3-9-23 The meeting was called to order at 3:45 p.m. Roll was called. Dennis, Laurie, John, and Erik. were present. There was no address from the public. Laurie moved to approve the minutes of the 2-9-23 meeting, Dennis seconded, passed. New business discussed included: - General update o The crews for the buckthorn project along the James River on the White Cloud trail and Frontier Village area have completed their work. o The two $10,000 forest service grants have been increased to $25,000. o Emerald Ash Borer has been discovered in Moorhead Minnesota. - The applicants for the Urban Forest Master Plan 3 members at large were discussed and three applicants were approved by a motion made by John and seconded by Laurie. o The three applicants approved were: Ashley Johnson, Brandon Dale, and Cherish Bauer- Reich. - The dates, location, and times for the Urban Forest Master Plan Subcommittee will be decided and published once all of the members have had time to respond to the survey of what will work for them. It was suggested that the forester inquire about using the meeting room at TRAC for these meetings. Old business included: - No old business was discussed. Motion to adjourn was made by John, was seconded by Laurie, and passed. The meeting was adjourned at 4:43 p.m. The next meeting will be held on April 13th, at 3:30 p.m. in the council chambers.
