Present: Buchanan, Steele, Heinrich, Schloegel, Geroux, Blackmore, Dillman, Edinger, Fosse, Laber, Lipetzky,
Michel, O’Neill, Reuther, Rowell, Sveum, and Stroh. Absent: Kamlitz.
POLICE & FIRE COMMITTEE
Chair Buchanan convened the meeting at 4:06 p.m.
Chief Edinger provided a department update.
Chair Buchanan adjourned the meeting at 4:09 p.m.
PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE
Chair Steele convened the meeting at 4:09 p.m.
Heinrich moved to recommend the City Council approve the request from nine property owners adjacent to
the 1100 block of 2nd Place NE to designate the south side of the street as no parking. Seconded by
Schloegel. Unanimous aye vote. Carried.
Schloegel moved to recommend the City Council approve directing the City Attorney to draft an extension
to the Enterprise Agreement for Recycling Collection with Renaissance Recycling, LLC as approved in the
City Council resolution June 6, 2022. Seconded by Heinrich. Unanimous aye vote. Carried.
Heinrich moved to recommend the City Council approve the following pertaining to the 2024 Citywide
Parks Pedestrian Bridges Construction and Reconstruction District #24-21.
a. To create the district.
b. To direct the preparation of a preliminary engineering report concerning the district.
Seconded by Schloegel. Unanimous aye vote. Carried.
Buchanan moved to recommend the City Council approve the quote award for the budgeted Compact
Loader for the Solid Waste Department to Central Sales, including a three-year warranty, in the amount of
$89,971.20. Seconded by Schloegel. Unanimous aye vote. Carried.
INFORMATIONAL: A bid opening is scheduled at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, May 1, 2023, for One (1)
New 3 CY-4-Wheel Drive Loader for the Street Department and the consideration to award the bid is
scheduled for 5:00 P.M., May 1, 2023, at City Council.
INFORMATIONAL: A bid opening is scheduled at 10:15 A.M. on Monday, May 1, 2023, for One (1)
New Diesel-Powered, Articulated, Wheel Loader for the Solid Waste Department and the consideration to
award the bid is scheduled for 5:00 P.M., May 1, 2023, at City Council.
City Engineer Dillman reviewed the project updates.
City Sanitation Foreman O’Neill provided an update about Residential Curbside Cleanup Week May 8
through May 11, 2023.
Chair Steele adjourned the meeting at 4:43 p.m.
