BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY COUNCIL CHAMBERS-CITY HALL MARCH 10, 2020-8:30 A.M. Open Bids/ Main Street Revitalization Project Engineering Administrator Scott Derby opened up bids for the Main Street Revitalization Project in the order they were delivered: 1. Malott Construction – Base Bid $1,068,728.55 2. Pulver- Base Bid $1,542,274.52 Additive Alternate 1- $249,155.10 Additive Alternate 1- $352,902.66 Additive Alternate 2- $141,449.59 Additive Alternate 2- $211,160.54 Additive Alternate 3- $52,110.69 Additive Alternate 3- $82,385.00 Alternate 4- $95,323.00 Alternate 4- $53,940.00 = $1,606,766.93 = $2,242.662.72 Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe made a motion to take the bids under advisement and award at the next Board of Public Works and Safety meeting on Tuesday March 24, 2020 with a second from Board Member Jim Dazey. The motion passed 2 ayes- 0 nays. At 8:37 A.M. roll call was answered by Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe and Chairman Jim Dazey. Board Member Don Gura was absent. Others present were: Scott Derby, Mark Schultz, Jeremy McKinley, Rob Wiley, Scott Mosley, Katie Ritchie, Brett Slone, Ryan Alwine, Steve Garbacz- KPC News, Nate Pulver, Lynn Sherer, Nathan Deig, and Cindy Marple. Pledge of Allegiance The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance. Minutes The minutes of the February 25, 2020 Board of Public Works and Safety meeting were presented for approval. Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe made a motion to approve the minutes with a second by Board Member Jim Dazey. The motion passed 2 ayes-0 nays. Petitions or Comments No petitions or comments were heard. Clerk Treasurer Pay Adjustment Request Clerk Treasurer, Katie Ritchie, requested for a pay adjustment for Accounts Receivable Clerk Brandy Roberts. Brandy is eligible for her second pay adjustment as she has been here for six months. This will take her increase to $17.84/ hour effective as of March 11, 2020. Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe made a motion to approve with a second from Board Member Jim Dazey. The motion passed 2 ayes-0 nays. Fire Request to pay Michiana Door Company Fire Chief Jeremy McKinley requested authorization to pay Michiana Door Company in the amount of $2,115.00 for the repair of an opener to a door at Station 2. Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe made a motion to approve with a second from Board Member Jim Dazey. The motion passed 2 ayes-0 nays. Police Request to hire part-time school crossing guard. Chief of Police Rob Wiley requests authorization to hire Christine Howard (550 Bayview Drive, Rome City, IN) as a part- time school crossing guard. This would make three full-time and three part-time crossing guards. Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe made a motion to approve with a second from Board Member Jim Dazey. The motion passed 2 ayes-0 nays. Authorization to pay GETAC Video Solutions Chief of Police Rob Wiley requested authorization to pay GETAC Video Solutions in the amount of $5,109.48 for our annual fee to store body worn camera data in their cloud format. Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe made a motion to approve with a second from Board Member Jim Dazey. The motion passed 2 ayes- 0 nays. Motion to Adjourn Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Chairman Jim Dazey adjourned the meeting at 8:43 A.M. _____________________________________ Kathren R.
