BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY COUNCIL CHAMBERS JUNE 8, 2021-8:30 A.M. Bid Opening- Next Level Trails Project Administrative Engineer Scott Derby opened up the bids for the Next Level Trails Project in the order received. 1. Pulver- $613,495.75 2. Brooks Construction- $757,877.00 3. API Construction- $690,244.20 4. Niblock Excavating- $632,220.00 Board Member Don Gura made a motion to take the bids under advisement and award the bidder at the next Board of Works meeting on Tuesday June 22, 2021 with a second from Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. Roll call was answered by Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe and Chairman Jim Dazey and Board Member Don Gura. Others present were: Scott Derby, Katie Ritchie, Steve Garbacz- KPC News, Mark Schultz, Scott Mosley, Ryan Alwine, Matt Riehm, Jeremy McKinley, and Cindy Marple. Pledge of Allegiance The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance. Minutes The minutes of the May 25, 2021 Board of Public Works and Safety meeting were presented for approval. Board Member Don Gura made a motion to approve the minutes with a second by Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe. The motion passed 2 ayes-0 nays. Petitions or Comments No Petitions or comments were given. Clerk-Treasurer Employee Resignation- Elissa Hambrick Clerk Treasurer, Katie Ritchie, presented a resignation letter from Deputy Clerk-Treasurer and Human Resources Clerk, Elissa Hambrick. Elissa’s last day will tentatively be Friday June 18, 2021. Clerk Treasurer Katie Ritchie requested authorization to open up the position internally until Monday June 14, 2021. Board Member Don Gura made a motion to approve with a second from Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. Fire Request to pay Southwood Construction for gutters Fire Chief Jeremy McKinley requested authorization to pay Southwood Construction to replace gutters at Fire Station 1. The total price for this project will be $11,609.00 and will come out of the misc. improvements account. Board Member Don Gura made a motion to approve with a second from Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. WWTP Apex invoice for McCray Solar Field Superintendent Mark Schultz requested authorization to pay invoice 4434 to Apex Consulting in the amount of $5,800.00. This includes site grading and drainage plan development for the McCray Solar Park. The monies for this will come out of account 606003635.010. Board Member Don Gura made a motion to approve with a second from Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. The April Activity report was presented for review. Motion to Adjourn Board Member Don Gura made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Chairman Jim Dazey adjourned the meeting at 8:47A.M. _____________________________________ Kathren R.
