SPECIAL BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY COUNCIL CHAMBERS JUNE 2, 2022-8:30 A.M. Roll call was answered by: Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe, Chairman Jim Dazey, and Board Member Don Gura. Others present were: Scott Derby, Steve Garbacz- KPC, Mark Schultz, Lance Waters, Brian Strange, Dawn McGahen, and Katie Ritchie. Pledge of Allegiance The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance. Petitions No petitions or comments were given. Engineering Award CCMG Street Improvements 2022-1 Engineering Administrator Scott Derby recommended awarding Pulver Asphalt Paving, Inc. as they were the lowest bidder for the CCMG Street Improvements 2022-1. Board Member Don Gura made a motion to approve with a second from Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. Park Roof Bid Park Director Dawn McGahen submitted a letter formally rejecting the previous bid from AERS Construction regarding the roof replacement. Once the rejection is complete their plan is to rebid the project but change specifications to insure a more concrete amount on supplies. Board Member Don Gura made a motion to approve with a second from Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. Street Request to Purchase Truck Street Superintendent Brian Strange requested authorization to purchase a 2022 GMC Chevrolet from Shepherd’s in Kendallville in the amount of $31,865.00. The price is reflecting a $9,000.00 trade in of their 2008 Ford F-350. Board Member Don Gura made a motion to approve with a second from Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. Motion to Adjourn Board Member Don Gura made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
