COMMON COUNCIL COUNCIL CHAMBERS-CITY HALL JANUARY 7, 2020 -7:00 P.M. The Common Council of the City of Kendallville met in regular session Tuesday January 07, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. Roll call was answered by: Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe, Council Member Regan Ford, Council Member Jim Dazey, Attorney Doug Atz, Council Member Steven Clouse, MYAC Member Kyle Blackburn. Council Member Corey Boese and Council Member Amy Ballard were absent. Others present were: Andy Barrand -KPC Media, Katie Ritchie, Scott Derby, Todd & Sheryl Hanes, Terry Longsworth, Ryan Alwine, Matt Brinkman- Region 3A, Jeremy McKinley, and Rob Wiley. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance. MINUTES/ MEETING Minutes from the December 17, 2019 Common Council meeting were presented for review. Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Steven Clouse. The motion passed 3 ayes – 0 nays. PETITIONS OR COMMENTS No petitions or comments were given. MAYOR Resolution #1057/ Tax Abatement- Bollhoff Council Member Jim Dazey requested the reading of Resolution #1057 in its entirety. Attorney Doug Atz read Resolution #1057 in its entirety. Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Regan Ford. Some discussion took place between council members. Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to withdraw his previous motion and table Resolution #1057 till the next council meeting on January 21, 2019 with a second from Council Member Regan Ford. The motion passed 3 ayes – 0 nays. Council announced the following people were appointed to the following boards: Corey Boese- Cemetery Board Regan Ford- Plan Commission Scott Durbin- BZA Lance Harman & Loren Allen- RDC Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Regan Ford. The motion passed 3 ayes – 0 nays. Council Member Regan Ford made a motion to approve Jim Dazey as President of the Common Council with a second from Council Member Steven Clouse. The motion passed 3 ayes – 0 nays. Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe announced the following people were appointed to the following committees: Aviation-Mike Jansen RDC-Kristen Johnson Park-Kevin Jansen BZA-Diane Peachy Kendallville Housing Authority- Claudette Lear & Kathy Hefty B.O.W- Council Member Jim Dazey- Chairman, Don Gura- Board Member Law & Ordinance Committee- Council Member Jim Dazey- Chairman, Council Member Steven Clouse- Member Finance Committee- Council Member Jim Dazey- Chairman, Council Member Amy Ballard- Member Street’s & Alley’s- Council Member Regan Ford- Chairman, Council Member Steven Clouse- Member City Building- Council Member Regan Ford- Chairman, Council Member Corey Boese- Member. ALLOWENCE OF BILLS AND CLAIMS Council Member Jim Dazey presented bills and claim numbers 64716 through 64828 for $635,280.30 for approval. Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to approve the bills and claims with a second by Council Member Steven Clouse. The motion passed 3ayes-0 nays. MOTION TO ADJOURN Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe adjourned the meeting at 7:17 P.M. ________________________________________________ Kathren R.
