COMMON COUNCIL COUNCIL CHAMBERS-CITY HALL JULY 21, 2020 -7:00 P.M. The Common Council of the City of Kendallville met in regular session Tuesday July 21, 2020 at 7:00 P.M. Roll call was answered by: Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe, Council Member Regan Ford, Council Member Corey Boese, Council Member Jim Dazey, Attorney Doug Atz, Council Member Amy Ballard. MYAC Member Kyle Blackburn and Council Member Steven Clouse was absent. Others present were: Terry Longsworth, Lance Waters, Jeremy McKinley, Andy Barrand- KPC, Scott Derby, Todd & Sheryl Hanes, and Katie Ritchie. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance. MINUTES/ MEETING Minutes from the July 7, 2020 Common Council meeting were presented for review. Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Corey Boese. The motion passed 4 ayes – 0 nays. PETITIONS OR COMMENTS Todd Hanes, resident of 417 Pleasant Street, voiced his concerns as to why the City is using tax payer dollars to demolish properties. Mr. Hanes said he understands the circumstances if it is a non for profit that is demolishing homes but not property owners. MAYOR The aviation minutes for June were presented for review. FIRE The June Fire Report was presented for review. PARK The July 13, 2020 minutes were presented for review. POLICE The June Police Report was presented for review. ALLOWENCE OF BILLS AND CLAIMS Council Member Jim Dazey presented bills and claim numbers 66147 through 66272 for $995,129.47 for approval. Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to approve the bills and claims with a second by Council Member Amy Ballard. The motion passed 4 ayes-0 nays. MOTION TO ADJOURN Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
