COMMON COUNCIL COUNCIL CHAMBERS-CITY HALL MARCH 18, 2025 -7:00 P.M. The Common Council of the City of Kendallville met in regular session March 18, 2025 at 7:00 P.M. Roll call was answered by: Mayor Lance Waters, Council Member Corey Boese, Council Member Shari Targgart, Attorney Jacob Atz, Council Member Tara Streb, Council Member Christopher McCreery, and MYAC Member Kingston Linthicum. Council Member Amy Ballard was absent. Others present were: Katie Ritchie, Scott Derby, Matt Getts- KPC News, Scott Derby, Patrick Howell, John Dixon, Jeremy McKinley, Jordan Fought & Family, Matthew Gillison, Dakota Dellahan, Angela Handshoe, Brandon Cox, Nate Stahl, Jim Nixon, Michael Hensinger, Jim Nixon, Charlotte Duke, Devin Fromholz, Charlotte Inman, Gabby Fromholz, Jennifer Fromholz, and Virginia Fromholz. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance. MINUTES/ MEETING Minutes from the March 4, 2025 Common Council meeting were presented for review. Council Member Shari Targgart made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Tara Streb. The motion passed 4 ayes – 0 nays. PETITIONS OR COMMENTS No petitions or comments were given. MAYOR Officer of the Year Mayor Lance Waters and Police Chief John Dixon presented Officer Jordan Fought as 2024 Police Officer of the Year. Officer Fought was presented with a plaque and was thanked for his service with the Police Department. Fireman of the Year Mayor Lance Waters and Fire Chief Jeremy McKinley presented Fireman James Inman as 2024 Fireman of the Year. Fireman Inman was presented with a plaque and was thanked for his service with the Fire Department. Resolution #1126/ Police Weapons Disposal Council Member Corey Boese requested the reading of Resolution #1126 in its entirety. Attorney Jacob Atz read Resolution #1126 in its entirety. Council Member Corey Boese made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Tara Streb. The motion passed 4 ayes – 0 nays. FIRE The February 2025 Fire Report was presented for review. PARK The March 10, 2025 Park Board minutes were presented for review. POLICE The February 2025 Police Report was presented for review. OLD BUSINESS General Ordinance #1273/ Amending Fire Protection and Prevention – 3rd Reading Council Member Corey Boese requested the reading of General Ordinance #1273 in title only. Attorney Jacob Atz read General Ordinance #1273 in title only. Council Member Corey Boese made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Tara Streb. The motion passed 4 ayes – 0 nays. ALLOWANCE OF BILLS AND CLAIMS Council Member Tara Streb presented bills and claim numbers 78839 through 78948 for $938,147.91 for approval. Council Member Tara Streb made a motion to approve the bills and claims with a second by Council Member Corey Boese. The motion passed 4 ayes-0 nays. MOTION TO ADJOURN Council Member Tara Streb made a motion to adjourn the meeting with a second from Council Member Shari Targgart. Mayor Lance Waters adjourned the meeting at 7:09 P.M. ________________________________________ Kathren R.
