Montgomery, Presiding Vice Mayor Darrell Duncan Alderman Betsy Cooper Alderman Gary Mayes Alderman Colette George Alderman James Phillips I. CALL TO ORDER 4: 30 pm by Mayor Montgomery. II. ROLL CALL by City Recorder Travis Bishop. Absent: Alderman Morris Baker. III. DISCUSSION ITEMS 1. UT Dental Clinic - Allen Stanton Ken Tilashalski, DMD gave a presentation on this item noting the clinic has served nearly 1, 300 appointments and performed about 3, 000 procedures. He commented on new partnership opportunities and highlighted a timeline of future plans. Lastly, he talked about some of the challenges such as student housing and curriculum. Some discussion followed as he answered questions from the board. 2. Disaster Preparedness - Chief DeBerry Fire Chief DeBerry introduced Sullivan County EMS Chief Kevin Marsh, Sullivan County EMA Director Jim Bean and Kingsport Lifesaving Crew Chief Tony Rutledge who will also be speaking during the presentation. He also recognized Police Chief Bellamy for their partnership and cooperation with the fire department. He explained the aspects of emergency preparedness and the functions of the emergency operations center. Discussion ensued throughout as the speakers answered questions from board members.
