Village of Kohler Planning Commission January 11, 2024 Chairperson Thomas Schnettler called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. Roll call was taken: Tom Schnettler, Jay Hoekstra, Mike Wandschneider, Thomas Kramer and Paul Bonack were present. Lee Gumm and Mike Zimmermann were absent. Staff members present: Mike Kitzerow and Laurie Lindow. Approval of Meeting Minutes from November 9, 2023 – Motion by Jay Hoekstra, second by Mike Wandschneider to approve the meeting minutes from November 9, 2023. Motion carried. Public comment – none. Business 1. Request from Creative Sign Company for a permit for a temporary sign advertising Sierra at the Deertrace Shopping Center, 4029 State Highway 28 – The temporary sign will be located at the west entrance to Deertrace beginning in mid-February for 90 days. The sign meets the maximum size requirements for a temporary sign and will be secured with sandbags. Motion by Tom Schnettler, second by Mike Wandschneider to approve request from Creative Sign Company for a temporary sign permit advertising Sierra at the Deertrace Shopping Center, 4029 State Highway 28 for a period not to exceed 90 days. Motion carried. 2. Request from George and Jane Hess for a building permit for a new home on Lot 71 in The Clearings Subdivision - The proposed home meets setbacks and village code and approved by Kohler Co. Residential Review Committee. The plans include a pool with no fence, but the pool will have a walkable safety cover. The lot does not extend into the Village right-of-way on Woodland Road. Motion by Jay Hoekstra, second by Mike Wandschneider to approve request from George and Jane Hess for a building permit for a new home on Lot 71 in The Clearings Subdivision. Motion carried.
