POLICE AND FIRE COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES November 27, 2023 at 5:30 PM Kronenwetter Municipal Center - 1582 Kronenwetter Drive Room C108 (Fire Department Incident Command Room) 1. CALL MEETING TO ORDER Vice President Chet Rucinski called the meeting to order at 5:18 p.m. Pledge of Allegiance Roll Call PRESENT Vice President Chet Rucinski Commissioner Paul Raymond Commissioner David Forsythe ABSENT President Doug Schemmel Commissioner Lucene Udulutch 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Approve 08/28/2023 meeting minutes. Motion made by Commissioner Forsythe, Seconded by Commissioner Raymond. Voting Yea: Vice President Rucinski, Commissioner Forsythe, Commissioner Raymond 3. ANNOUNCEMENT OF CLOSED SESSION Vice President Rucinski announced the Commission may be going into closed session. 4. PUBLIC COMMENT None. 5. CLOSED SESSION Consideration of motion to convene into closed session pursuant to Wis. Stat. 19.85 (1)( c ) for consideration of employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility – to wit interview Fire Department applicant(s). Motion made by Commissioner Raymond, Seconded by Commissioner Forsythe. Voting Yea: Commissioner Forsythe, Commissioner Raymond, Vice President Rucinski The Commission convened into closed session at 5:20 p.m. 6. RECONVENE OPEN SESSION Consideration of motion to reconvene into open session. Motion made by Commissioner Forsythe Seconded by Commissioner Raymond. Voting Yea: Commissioner Raymond, Commissioner Forsythe, Vice President Rucinski The Commission reconvened into open session at 5:40 p.m. 7. ACTION AFTER CLOSED SESSION Discussion and possible action on whether to continue applicant(s) in firefighter/first responder hiring process. Motion made by Commissioner Forsythe to continue Michael Thompson in the firefighter/first responder hiring process. Seconded by Commissioner Raymond. Voting Yea: Commissioner Raymond, Commissioner Forsythe, Vice President Rucinski 8. NEW BUSINESS Discussion and Possible Action: Appointment of EMS Coordinator. The Fire Chief discussed recommendation of the promotion of Alexa Kufalk to the position of EMS Coordinator. No commission action necessary. Discussion and possible action on 2024 meeting schedule. Motion made by Commissioner Raymond to adopt the proposed 2024 meeting schedule. Seconded by Commissioner Forsythe. Voting Yea: Vice President Rucinski, Commissioner Raymond, Commissioner Forsythe 9.
