New Trustee Liz Rosenfeld was introduced and welcomed.
VOTED: Minutes of regular meeting October 23, 2014 approved. Motion:Anderson Second: Danosi.
Unanimous
VOTED: To award to Laconia Historical & Museum Society $20,000.00 to partially cover costs
associated with 2015 programming and exhibition series. Funds to come from Laconia Public Library
Trust Fund. Motion: Perley; Second: Danosi
Vote: five in favor; one abstention.
VOTED: October, November 2014 expenditures approved. Motion: Anderson; Second: Perley.

VOTED: Proposed 2015-2016 budget approved. Increase in budget is $6157.00 (1.98%), and does not
include personnel costs, which will be added later by the City. Motion: Anderson; Second: Moriarty.

VOTED: To establish a new salary scale for the Administrative Technical Assistant Position. Step
1=$18.96/hour. Step 10=$23.68/hour. Current employee will be slotted at Step 7=$21.99/hour.

VOTED: To permit Laconia Kiwanis Club to display two plaques temporarily in Laconia Kiwanis
Children’s Room. Motion: Moriarty; Second: Clark. Unanimous
Laconia Public Library Board of Trustees held their regular monthly meeting in Laconia Rotary Hall.
Chairman Bob Selig called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
Present: James Anderson, Craig Clark, Kimberly Danosi; John Moriarty John Perley; Liz Rosenfeld

Not Present: Glenn Smith; City Council Liaison Brenda Baer
Brenda Kean from Laconia Historical & Museum Society presented a proposal for 2015 programs and
exhibits. After some discussion, LPL Board voted to award LHMS $20,000.00 to partially cover costs
associated with the series. Funds to come from LPL Trust Funds. Motion: Perley; Second Danosi. Vote:
five in favor, one abstention.
Finance Committee:
October, November 2014 expenditures approved. Motion: Anderson; Second: Perley. Unanimous

Personnel Committee:
Chair Danosi reported on work done by the Committee over the past several months. After some
discussion, the board voted unanimously to establish a new salary scale for the Administrative-Technical
Assistant position. Motion: Danosi; Second: Perley.
Other Business:
Director read a letter from Laconia Kiwanis Club President requesting permission to display two
plaques in Laconia Kiwanis Children’s Room. Motion: Moriarty; Second: Clark. Board voted
unanimously to permit Laconia Kiwanis Club to display two plaques temporarily in Laconia
Kiwanis Children’s Room.
Discussion about new technology in library. Director and two staff recently attended a one day
conference on the subject “Enhancing the Library Experience with Technology”. Included was a
demonstration of 3D Printer and discussion of ways that libraries can use printers with their
communities. Robotics will be investigated. Lakes Region Community College may have staff
willing to work with LPL to introduce robotics programming to the community. A connection
with Lego program is another possibility. Westport, Connecticut Library has hired a digital
experience manager to implement robotics and 3D printing programs.
New chairs will be purchased for the Periodical Room.
Future meetings January 22; March 26; May 28; June 25.
