Minutes were approved on 6/9/2026 by the Appointments Subcommittee. CITY OF LACONIA - APPOINTMENTS SUBCOMMITTEE MEETING MARCH 20, 2026 - 3:00 P.M. CITY COUNCIL MEETING ROOM 200B 3/20/2026 - Minutes 1. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 3:00 pm by Councilor Soucy. 2. SALUTE TO THE FLAG Salute to the flag was led by Councilor Soucy. 3. RECORDING SECRETARY Nancy Brown, Recording Secretary 4. ROLL CALL Councilor Robert Soucy, Councilor Mike Conant, and Councilor Jon Hildreth were in attendance. A quorum was established. 5. STAFF IN ATTENDANCE Nancy Brown, Recording Secretary and Administrative Assistant to the City Manager. 6. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Councilor Soucy to approve the minutes of February 11, 2026. The motion was seconded by Councilor Conant. The motion was approved unanimously. A motion was made by Councilor Soucy to approve the minutes of March 4, 2026. The motion was seconded by Councilor Conant. The motion was approved unanimously. A motion was made by Councilor Soucy to approve the minutes of March 9, 2026. The motion was seconded by Councilor Conant. The motion was approved unanimously. 7. Recommendations for appointments to Boards and Commissions The Appointments Subcommittee recommended forwarding the applicants shown below to the full Council at their April 13, 2026 meeting for formal approval: Motion made by Councilor Hildreth, seconded by Councilor Conant, to recommend appointment of Nicole Arsenault as an alternate on the Zoning Board of Adjustment. The motion was approved unanimously. Motion made by Councilor Hildreth, seconded by Councilor Conant, to recommend appointment of Michael Little as an alternate on the Planning Board. The motion was approved unanimously. Motion made by Councilor Hildreth, seconded by Councilor Conant, to recommend reappointment of Ryan Cardella as a regular member of the Weirs TIF District Advisory Board. The motion was approved unanimously. Motion made by Councilor Hildreth, seconded by Councilor Conant, to recommend appointment of Michael Little as an alternate on the Planning Board. The motion was approved unanimously. Motion made by Councilor Hildreth, seconded by Councilor Conant, to recommend reappointment of Ryan Cardella as a regular member of the Weirs TIF District Advisory Board. The motion was approved unanimously. Motion made by Councilor Hildreth, seconded by Councilor Soucy, to recommend appointment of Debra Cheney as a regular member of the Zoning Board of Adjustment. The motion was approved two in favor, one (Councilor Conant) opposed. Motion made by Councilor Hildreth, seconded by Councilor Conant, to recommend appointment of Bruce Cheney as an alternate on the Planning Board. The motion was approved unanimously. Motion made by Councilor Hildreth, seconded by Councilor Conant, to recommend reappointment of Michael Argiropolis as an alternate on the Library Board. The motion was approved unanimously. Motion made by Councilor Hildreth, seconded by Councilor Conant, to recommend reappointment of Marie Bradley as a regular member of the Library Board. The motion was approved unanimously. Motion made by Councilor Conant, seconded by Councilor Hildreth, to recommend appointment of Doreen Richards as a regular member of the Planning Board. The motion was approved unanimously. Motion made by Councilor Conant, seconded by Councilor Hildreth, to recommend appointment of Jacob Roy as a regular member of the Planning Board. The motion was approved unanimously. Motion made by Councilor Hildreth, seconded by Councilor Conant, to recommend reappointment of Ethan Wood as a regular member of the Trustees of the Trust Funds. 8. Any other business that may come before the Committee There was no other business to come before the Subcommittee. 9. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 3:40 pm.
