6/13/2018 6/6/2018 - Minutes 6/6/2018 - Minutes 1. Offsite Training At Messer Street Boat Ramp 2. Call To Order Chairman D. Anson called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM. Members present: Marnie Schulz, Mike Foote, Vice Chair Deborah Williams, Chairman Dean Anson. Members absent: Richard Christopher and Lisa Morin There are no alternates. Staff/recording clerk: Evan Rathburn Guests: Richard Tilton and Patti Taylor. There is no one in the audience. 3. Pledge Of Allegiance/Handicap Exits/Silence Cell Phones 4. Establish A Quorum A quorum was established with the members present. 5. Review Of The Previous Meeting's Minutes M. Foote makes a motion to table all other items on the agenda, excluding milfoil management, and the review of the previous meetings minutes till the next meeting. D. Williams seconds. All in favor: Aye: 4 Nay: 0 The motion carries. 6. Old Business 6.I. Milfoil Management Richard Tilton (milfoil subcommittee chairman) gives a brief overview of where the City is in its milfoil management plan. The cost of milfoil treatment is covered for this year but next year is a challenge. R. Tilton poses the idea of creating a nonprofit to funnel money into for lake management. D. Anson says he is not sure if that is a viable option but will check with the City Manager about it. Discussion begins about who to ask for money. The commission and R. Tilton agree that the businesses around the lake along with private property owners and HOAs should be approached about donating money to milfoil control. Special emphasis to put on what will happen to these various parties if the lake becomes choked is a main agreement point. R. Tilton will work on with P. Taylor in getting a draft letter created. P. She says that she will work on trying to get the message out that way through her contacts. The idea of a "Lake Festival" is posed and is considered for the future to max out lake outreach. Discussion is had about what Moultonborough had various other towns do to combat milfoil. Additionally, the commission and guests present discuss about whether to go with DASH and Herbicide in the future or just use DASH and which of the two herbicides will be cheaper to use. The commission comes to agreement with R. Tilton and P. Taylor is that the first course of action is getting a letter sent out then go from there. R. Tilton will work on letter brainstorming with P. Taylor and send their materials to E. Rathburn. 6.II. Lake Cleanup Tabled to next meeting. 7. New Business 7.I. Planning Board Meeting On 6/5/2018 Tabled to next meeting. 8. Liaison and Subcommittee Reports Tabled to next meeting. 9. Other Business Tabled to next meeting. 10. Adjournment M. Schulz makes a motion to adjourn at 8:00 PM. M. Foote seconds.
