Laconia Putnam Fund Board of Trustees Meeting June 1, 2018 This meeting was called to order on June 1, 2018 at the Woodside Commons located at the Taylor Community as 12:00 pm with the following in attendance: Linda Peary, Rich Landry, Jim Rogato and Betty Ballantyne. PROGRAMS: MC LARS: Confirmed for Friday, October 26, 2018 at the LHS Auditorium at 7:00 pm. Sugar Ray & The Bluetones and Jon Butcher: Friday on November 9, 2018 at the LHS Auditorium. Cost $9,640. Charles made a motion to approve the show. Linda seconded the motion for the show with all in favor of the program. ONE BOOK AT A TIME: Presented by the Laconia Library – Laconia School District & Laconia Human Relations Committee. The book is “When Books Went To War”. The request proposed is $2,500. Charles made a motion to approve the show. Betty seconded the proposal with all in favor of the program. JAY C BUCKLEY, JR – ASTRONAUT & DOCTOR: Speaking engagement $2,000 fee to be donated to the Christa McCauliffe Museum. Discussions with the Laconia Middle School and Laconia High School Principals will then determine when and where the Program will be presented. David S Brody – Author: Speaker to be held at The Taylor Community on February 20, 2019. Our last program with Atty. Brody fee was a $1000 donation suggested by Atty. Brody. Betty made a motion for the program. Charles seconded the motion with all in favor. They can perform at Laconia, Friday March 8, 2019for $1,200. We do hope to include Clogging into the show. Betty made a motion for the show, Charles seconded the show with all in favor. Richard Wood & Gordon Belcher – Violinist & Guitarist: These performers were recommended by a Laconia resident. They were highly recommended. In watching YouTube we agree to invite them to perform for us. Their fee is $1,200 and they will be passing through for a show in March. Therefore, March 8, 2019 they can perform at Laconia High School Auditorium. It is our thoughts to include Clogging. Betty made a motion and Charles seconded with all in favor. MISCELLANEOUS: Parade: July 7th for the 125th Birthday. A discuss regarding the Board participating in the Parade. In general, it appears not all are available to participate. Banners: In knowing of the upcoming Summer Concerts, Jim dropped off the Banners at the Belknap Mill in support of the Putnam Board’s participation. 125th Birthday: The Board discussed support of the 125th by advertising a quarter page for $75.00. Betty made a motion with Linda seconded with all in favor. Christmas Show: It will be placed on hold until a good program/opportunity presents itself. Charles will be notifying our Agent, Julie Grant. Discussions of venues to piggy back from other venues such as: Lynn Auditorium and Lowell Auditorium in preparation of a big April Show. Pat Kelly: Charles made a motion to purchase a $100 gift card for all his radio support for several years. Linda seconded it with all in favor.
