CALL TO ORDER Chair Dean Anson called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM. 2. ROLL CALL Dean Anson, Deb Williams, Lisa Morin, Mike Foote. 3. SALUTE TO THE FLAG The commission saluted to the flag. 4. RECORDING SECRETARY Mackenzie Theberge 5. STAFF IN ATTENDANCE Assistant Planner, Robert Mora. 6. ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS MEETINGS 6.I. Acceptance Of Minutes From May 19 D. Williams motioned to accept minutes with revision, L. Morin seconded the motion. All voted in favor. 7. OLD BUSINESS 7.I. Perley Pond Property D. Anson wrote an email that will be sent out to Amy over at Parks and Recreation, it identifies where the cut line is marked with white PVC pipe. It identifies where there’s erosion and the dead trees that are in the back near the Beane conference center line. The trees should be brought down for safety. The couple dozens of planted Irises seem to be overwhelmed with the other plants now. 7.II. Rain Gardens There is no business to discuss for the Rain Gardens. 8. NEW BUSINESS Ray and Paula Chambers were present. P. Chambers explains that they recently done some projects such as composting, recycling, and the pollinator gardens. P. Chambers has done some research on native plants and encouraged others to plant native plants using incentives. P. Chambers also explains that companion gardens are an option if people still want to plant vegetables along with pollinator plants. P. Chambers mentions that milkweed is very important to plant and was inquiring if there are any places that they can be planted.  Ray and Paula Chambers were present. P. Morin mentions that Milkweed is not planted in community gardens because it is not good for hay fields. D. Anson suggests Adopt a spot for planting if it is non-invasive planting. D. Anson also explains to P. Chambers the Perley Pond Property. L. Morin suggests the cemetery for pollinator gardens as well. D. Anson and L. Morin want to keep in contact with the Chambers for further projects to improve the city and to exchange more information. D. Williams explains to P. Chambers about Lake Hosts and that if anyone is interested, they could use some volunteers or people for hire. A new application was dropped off for a permit for a dock with anchor pad. The Commission reviewed the application with no comments. D. Anson signed the application. 9. NEW HAMPSHIRE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES APPLICATIONS 10. OTHER BUSINESS D. Anson mentions that they need Lake Hosts for Messer Street ramp. They plan to hire someone that is over the age of eighteen and plan to pay $10.00 - $11.00 an hour. L. Morin and D. Williams discuss about the confrontation training and that is why they have reservations about hiring anyone younger than eighteen. D. Anson suggests that the hired Lake Hosts have the local police departments phone number in their phone rather than 911, for their safety. D. Anson asks if they want to renew the NH Lakes membership for the Conservation Commission. L. Morin motioned to have the City of Laconia pay dues to renew the membership for NH Lakes, on behalf of the Conservation Commission. M. Foote seconded the motion. All voted in favor. L. Morin suggests that they take into look of other memberships that need to be renewed for the Conservation Commission. D. Williams wants the Porta Potty by Messer Street to be moved thirty-three feet away from the water. D. Williams also wants to check on the Porta Potty near City Hall, it is too close to the water and it either needs to be moved or secured so there is no chance of it tipping into the water. 11.
