CITY OF LACONIA HERITAGE COMMISSION Thursday, 13 July 2017 MINUTES I. CALL TO ORDER: C. Tokarz called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. II. PRESENT: C. Tokarz, D. Duffy, M. Hoey, J. Whitehead ABSENT: M. Boudman, A. Doyle STAFF: D. Wood (recording the meeting) III. MINUTES: The Minutes of the meeting on June 14, 2017, were reviewed. D. Duffy made a motion to approve the Minutes. M. Hoey seconded the motion, and it was approved unanimously. IV. CITY COUNCIL LIAISON REPORT: None V. PLANNING BOARD UPDATE: None VI. OLD BUSINESS A. Area Studies: C. Tokarz talked to Andrew Cushing who gave her the parameters for the photos. C. Tokarz sent this information to Joanna DeCesare and told her to talk with Andrew Cushing if she had any questions. C. Tokarz also asked Joanna to start with Charlie St. Clair’s antique store, then go up the street to St. Joseph’s Church, Train Station and Veterans Square. B. St. Joseph’s Church: J. Whitehead went to the Vatican and delivered the letter that C. Tokarz wrote. C. Tokarz said she was told that the Holy Trinity School and Busiel House would not be torn down. C. Tokarz told Joanna to focus on St. Joseph’s Church. C. NH Preservation Alliance Report: C. Tokarz said she went on the NHPA website to download the reports of the conference D. Planning Board attendees: C. Tokarz suggested members should take turns attending the Planning Board meetings. D. Duffy (August), J. Whitehead (September), M. Hoey (October), M. Boudman (November), D. Duffy (December). She said it will be good to let them know the Heritage Commission exists and is showing an interest. E. Property Restoration Recognization: D. Duffy will e-mail the sample certificate she made to Commission members. F. Heritage Commission Membership: C. Tokarz asked M. Hoey to write a letter regarding recruiting new members and pass it by B. Loughlin. She would like this letter published in the Daily Sun and also Laconia Links. VII. New Business: None VIII. Public Comments: None IX. Adjournment: D. Duffy made a motion to adjourn, which was seconded by J. Whitehead, and the meeting was adjourned at 5:45.
