CITY OF LACONIA HERITAGE COMMISSION December 14, 2017 MINUTES I. CALL TO ORDER: C. Tokarz called the meeting to order at 1:35 p.m. II. PRESENT: C. Tokarz, M. Hoey, M. Boudman, J. Whitehead, A. Doyle ABSENT: D. Duffy STAFF: D. Wood (recording the meeting) III. MINUTES: The Minutes of the meeting of November 8, 2017 were reviewed. J. Whitehead made a motion to approve the Minutes. M. Boudman seconded the motion, and it was approved unanimously. . III. CITY COUNCIL LIAISON REPORT: Ava Doyle reported that there was nothing going on that would involve the Heritage Commission. IV. PLANNING BOARD UPDATE: C. Tokarz said that D. Duffy did not attend the recent Planning Board meeting because nothing on the agenda applied to the Heritage Commission. The Planning Board meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. V. OLD BUSINESS A. Planning Board Report: None B. Area Studies/Photography: C. Tokarz said that she would schedule a time with M. Boudman for taking the pictures after the snow is gone. C. Property Restoration Recognition: Discussion ensued about various properties that might be considered for recognition. J. Whitehead said there was an article in the Daily Sun about barns, and asked if the Commission was looking at barns, as there has been a tremendous loss of barns in New Hampshire. C. Tokarz said this would be put on the Agenda. D. St. Joseph’s Church: C. Tokarz said she has heard nothing new. VI. NEW BUSINESS: A. Historic Structure Directory. C. Tokarz passed out a copy of the form for developing a list of buildings to add to a Historic Structure Directory. B. Former MacDurgin Building. C. Tokarz said the Laconia Fire Department had been doing rescue training at this property. A DEMO permit had been issued for the structure VII. PUBLIC COMMENTS: None IX. ADJOURNMENT: J. Whitehead made a motion to adjourn, which M. Boudman seconded, and the meeting was adjourned at 2:22 pm.
